I walk in and out across grass and stone every day to get in an out of my car and I am forever vacuuming out the cars.

The daily Landy is also always full of sand..as the designated beach walk chariot.

Anyway , I get sick of having to go inside and carry the bloody Dyson out the house and also find the attachment on both old barrel and stick varieties a pain in the arse in the small cabin space. Also too bulky for many of the crevices, down sides of seats.

Anyone found any really good attachments and or a really good brand of unit , that I can leave in the garage specialised to cars perhaps? I generally take a soft brush and clean the dash etc for dust but again if there is a specialised tool would be interested if anyone has found one.

Last question , alacantra , to vacuum or not to vacuum??

I was put on to this by ChrisP last night, and we all know how much time and effort he puts into his cars.

Sensational for getting the water off the surface of your car and wheels after the wash.

Also great for all the nooks and crannies where the water gathers..

Keeping microfibre drying off to a minimum.

Available at Mitre10 for the grand sum of $42.59. Very powerful motor for the size of the unit. (2 year warranty)

The nozzle is rubber so no chance of damaging paintwork or wheels.

If it wasn't so bloody hot I would be out giving it a try on the BBC.

	Hey all,

Does anyone have any feedback on this beginners detailing course:

	https://bonvivantautocare.com.au/all-other-services-bon-vivant-melbourne/bon-vivant-1-day-detailing-course-for-beginners/

I'm looking to do it in January 18' as i'd like to learn how to effectively polish, wax, restore and maintain car paint.

Any feedback or recommendations on other courses would be appreciated!

	Cheers!

When I bought my 986 for 5k is came with two sets of wheels, 16s and 17s. The 17s are a much sexier looking wheel but they have had a pretty brutal life from the previous owner. I want to put them back on the car as I'm due for some new tyres soon so I would rather buy one set but I need to restore these before putting them on. They don't have any gauges on the metal mainly just very minor surface stuff that can be sanded away with easy but should I DIY or go send them off. I'd like to have them on the car sometime before end of Feb.

	Thanks

I started using this to clean chain Grease from motorbike wheels a looooooooooong time ago, and have found it works very well on tar as well, much better than any of the car specific wheel cleaners that I have tried, and has the added bonus of leaving your wheels with a wax coating

Has anyone had any experience with Rupes Bigfoot orbital polishers?

I just popped into Autobarn to have a look at orbital polishers and pads and the guy talked me out of buying the $80 machines he had on special. My paint chip guy gave me some tips on polishing and which pads to use and I decided to give it a go, starting on my wife's Mazda 2 before trying on the more expensive cars in the garage. The trouble was the Autobarn guy said it was better to pay for the good stuff (Rupes) which are basically foolproof and gives better results than go for the cheaper one which could cause damage if you do something stupid.

He suggested the Rupes Bigfoot which colour matches the pads with the cutting creams and polishes. I have looked up the web and the Rupes Bigfoot comes highly recommended. It is $550 though as a starting price but I figure if it is as good as the Autobarn says (and basically foolproof) then in the long run I will never have to get my cars professionally detailed again.

If I get good after working on my cars I will probably start offering a service to PFA people who will have an opportunity to check out the results on my car at the next SMT or DAK DAK breakfast.

Before I jump into the detailing profession though I am keen to obtain feedback. FYI there are also more expensive models which come with more creams and pads and carry bag for $1000 so if the feedback is good I may go the whole hog and start my car detailing business for friends and family before expanding out from just a hobby to a new part time job.

The first of my little questions

Anyone know how to remove the black paint from the window trim?

Thanks

Second Question

Removing the window tint

Seems to be two options

1. Scraper and razor blade

2. Add heaps of steam and pick at the film.

Anyone have any success with either option or an alternative?

Once again, Thanks
