Just wondering if anyone has updated their headlights on a 79 sc? I keep reading that the original lights are not so good. I have only just bought a great little runner 2 months ago and possibly may do some night driving in the Clare valley to see my family and don't fancy the idea of flicking in between high beam all the time.

Also, how hard is it to reinstate the cruise control on these cars? Thanks for any advice.

Hey All,

1. Top right corner of your profile page has "Edit my Profile" - Click on it.

Your Avatar is the pic that shows up as your profile pic for everyone to see when you are participating in posts.

Your Photo is an alternative pic that shows on your profile page if you want another image, maybe of you?! (I have both mine set to the same pic.)

2. Go to left hand side menu and select "Change Avatar".

3. Go to "Your Image Avatars" and then "Choose File".

4. Select an image for your Avatar image. It has to be equal to, or less than 200 by 200 pixels. The following file types are allowed: gif, jpg, jpeg, png.

5. Click "Save Changes" and hey presto!

To change your Photo repeat the above steps except select "Change Photo" instead of "Change Avatar", and the file can be as big as 100k - 150 x 150 pixels.

I have gone through all the instructions by Kerry posted 28/1/2010 "how to add in 5 easy steps." to no avail. I cannot remove the current avatar even after clicking all the right buttons, in fact the current avatar has now gone all blurry on me. I want to replace the current avatar with a new photo image resized to the correct size but it just won't allow me to do it. Any one know what I am doing wrong???? As I said I have tried the 5 easy steps system, but just doesn't work for me.

Thanks,

Hi Andy,

This might not be the optimum way to compress an image, but it works for me.

Copy the photo to your desktop, since you probably don't want to overwrite it with a compressed version. Open this photo copy with Microsoft Office Picture Manager.

Under the "Picture" option, choose "Compress Pictures". Down the right hand side will appear the "Compress Picture Options". I normally choose the "Web Pages" option. Then "OK". Then Save these changes and this file should be small enough to Upload.

Good luck,

If you have already registered...

Once signed in, go to your user ID in the top right hand corner, click on your name and come down and select "Your Settings".

Once there, select "Profile" under "Your Options", and then select "Change Avatar".

At this point you can take 1 of three different options of either using your own avatar (picture) or use one of the existing avatars supplied at the bottom.

To use your own, choose the first option of "Choose File", and find the pic you intend to use on your computer. If it is too big, the forum software should be able to resize it small enough to use.

If don't like it, repeat process!

Any further questions, detail in a reply...

The "Trade Supplier" field in the profiles section is an option designed to show transparency of those members of the forum who have their business interests also in the Motor Industry.

Likewise, the URL offers a link to their business website, aside from PorscheForum.com.au.

Example:

Sweaty Betty is a PCV member, a PorscheForum member, and has a Car Detailing business.

It may be in the interests of those she is chatting with online, with regard to her option, as well as an opportunity for her own self promotion within the forum.
