<p>I was always concerned about posting non butt pics in the ever popular "Butt Shot" post. Something to do with keeping the purity of the thread.</p><p>
</p><p>
So I thought I'd just start a post for gratuitous Porche pics.</p><p>
</p><p>
I am sure you all have pics that you'd like to share.</p><p>
</p><p>
The following is a pic of early 911's taking over the carpark at Arthurs Seat. The colours are a big part of the period style.</p><p>

<p>
	Hi All!
</p>

<p>
	My name is Simon and I've had my 981 Cayman S for about a month now, I'm definitely loving my first Porsche so thought I'd introduce myself to the community <img alt=":)" data-emoticon="" height="20" src="//content.invisioncic.com/o114742/emoticons/default_smile.png" srcset="//content.invisioncic.com/o114742/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" title=":)" width="20" /></p>

<p>
	I feel very lucky to have managed to get my hands on a manual example as I spent quite a while reading through the entire "How many manual 981s were delivered in Australia" thread here to which I learnt that there were only 16 delivered new! (stats stolen from the aforementioned <a href="https://porscheforum.com.au/topic/11119-981-caymanboxster-market-watch-how-many-manual-981css-were-delivered-answered/" rel="">thread)</a>
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#606c75;font-size:14px;">
	<strong>981 Cayman S Manuals</strong>
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#606c75;font-size:14px;">
	2014       11 manual         128 PDK       TOTAL 139
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#606c75;font-size:14px;">
	2015        3 manual           38 PDK         TOTAL 41
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#606c75;font-size:14px;">
	2016        2 manual           15 PDK         TOTAL 17
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#606c75;font-size:14px;">
	<strong><span style="color:#c0392b;">TOTAL    16 manual         181 PDK        TOTAL 197</span></strong>
</p>

<p>
	While I wasn't expecting to buy my car so soon, a Platinum Silver manual suddenly popped up on Carsales and even though the car was in NSW and I was in VIC, I knew I had to have it. Fast forward a few days and later and I was in Sydney picking the car up and preparing for the drive back to Melbourne! Definitely a memorable experience.
</p>

<p>
	I'm looking forward to learning more about the car and am enjoying every drive I get to do in it, here are some pics I took the other day with my friend in his Agate Grey 981:

<p>
	For the gurus out there, can anyone tell me what rims I have on the car? I can see that they weren't a standard Cayman option, I've found a few pictures of these wheels online but not much information which is making me question whether they are actually Porsche wheels or not!
</p>

<p>
	Looking forward to seeing some fellow Porsche drivers out on the roads!
</p>

<p>
	Simon

<p>Hello people, my name is Trev. I am quite new to the Porsche car and currently have a 69 model that has been done up as a 80's look although I am thinking of bringing it back to original and am curious what it would be worth as original now. I also have a a 83 cabriolet slant nose which I purchased just recently. I look forward to time on this forum and have to admit after seeing about 20 Porsches on a run in Queensland am thinking it might be nice to be part of something like this...</p>

<p>
	After owning a 944 S2, and putting 45,000m on it in 20 months (so much more pleasure than the rep car the company gave me), and having to give up my 964 after our first child, I'd been Porsche-less for 2 years. I had to have one again, to really live !
</p>

<p>
	So I found this lovely late, 250bhp 944 Turbo, and still have it. The ideal compromise - power of the 964, far more practical, lower cost, though no flat six noise. But its part of the family now, my kids wont let me sell it ever, and fortunately I don't need to. If I ever move to Brisbane where my family is, I'll bring it out to play.
</p>

<p>
	It has the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in, lovely balance for a bit of drifting, though feels very heavy compared to my Boxster. A few pics from over the years..I have entered it in Concour, though as a Judge myself knew it would never win.
</p>

<p>
	Hi Guys,
</p>

<p>
	Just stumbled upon the Aussie forum after once again doing some "post purchase IMS bearing reading" as we do lol, which brought me to here:
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://porscheforum.com.au/topic/9638-cayman-s-ims-failure-first-real-evidence-i-have-seen/" rel="">https://porscheforum.com.au/topic/9638-cayman-s-ims-failure-first-real-evidence-i-have-seen/</a>
</p>

<p>
	No I don't have an issue with mine, but every now and again I contemplate seal removal.
</p>

<p>
	Glad I've found an Aussie centric forum <img alt=":)" data-emoticon="" height="20" src="//content.invisioncic.com/o114742/emoticons/default_smile.png" srcset="//content.invisioncic.com/o114742/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" title=":)" width="20" /> Hopefully see some of you guys on a meet or something soon.
</p>

<p>
	Re my car, excuse the copy/paste of my story from other forums when I first took ownership earlier this year. My excitement hasn't changed, and being an occasional use car, the one thing that makes me lose sleep at night, is not IMS nightmares, but the excitement of knowing that "tomorrow, I'll drive the Porsche". Not even joking.
</p>

<p>
	My story:
</p>

<div style="background-color:#fcfcff;color:#032a46;font-size:14.6667px;padding:0px;">
	After years of chasing the Italian prancing horse, and never quite having a long enough rope to lasso myself one, I......
</div>

<div style="background-color:#fcfcff;color:#032a46;font-size:14.6667px;padding:0px;">

</div>

<div style="background-color:#fcfcff;color:#032a46;font-size:14.6667px;padding:0px;">
	Well...... I went on a Road Trip with a mate in his Porsche 997 is what I did.
</div>

<div style="background-color:#fcfcff;color:#032a46;font-size:14.6667px;padding:0px;">

</div>

<div style="background-color:#fcfcff;color:#032a46;font-size:14.6667px;padding:0px;">
	And from that moment on, I began a renewing of my mind.
</div>

<div style="background-color:#fcfcff;color:#032a46;font-size:14.6667px;padding:0px;">

</div>

<div style="background-color:#fcfcff;color:#032a46;font-size:14.6667px;padding:0px;">
	Why spend a lifetime chasing a car I may never be able to comfortably maintain, when, for a 1/3 of the price, I could have 99% of the car.
</div>

<div style="background-color:#fcfcff;color:#032a46;font-size:14.6667px;padding:0px;">

</div>

<div style="background-color:#fcfcff;color:#032a46;font-size:14.6667px;padding:0px;">
	So I began researching Porsches, and Cayman's in particular.
</div>

<div style="background-color:#fcfcff;color:#032a46;font-size:14.6667px;padding:0px;">

</div>

<div style="background-color:#fcfcff;color:#032a46;font-size:14.6667px;padding:0px;">
	I needed to drive one, so I popped to a dealer just to "see what one felt like".
</div>

<div style="background-color:#fcfcff;color:#032a46;font-size:14.6667px;padding:0px;">

<p>
	Hi, been on here for while and went away for while as didn't get my car when I signed up originally.
</p>

<p>
	Anyway just got a 2011 cayenne diesel and love it it's my daily and family car. Mods on the cards are darker tints and bigger wheels. Want to buy the colour coded wheel arches but don't know where to get them from.
</p>

<p>
	I have been lurking around for a while so I thought I would finally introduce myself and I will hopefully go on some drive days with the Sydney groups down the track, particularly since I will probably put a deposit on a new Cayman order on Monday.
</p>

<p>
	I have been looking at a Cayman purchase for a while, low miles with SPASM and PTV for Putty Rd style drive days.
</p>

<p>
	I started with a 981 Cayman GTS, worked my way to the GT4 but realised I needed PDK (wife cannot drive stick), then ended up looking at the 718 S or GTS.
</p>

<p>
	I plan to keep the car for maybe 10 years or more so I am thinking of buying new and the depreciation and amortisation is not so bad over that time. I also appreciate the reliability of a new car. My current drive I have had for 14 years and it has only just hit 52,000kms and has been faultless.
</p>

<p>
	I have read all about the sound issues of the 718 but I am mighty impressed with the 4 cylinder turbo cars these days and not coming from a Porsche background I am not bothered by the sound or missing cylinders and actually prefer it a little quieter for my wife and I to drive around on special outings and/or her alone. Although if I could afford a 991 GT3 I would probably get that! I have also considered waiting for a 718 GT4 but I think it will be above my budget and really the GT cars are probably more than I need.
</p>

<p>
	Also coming from an old twin turbo B5 RS4 with 400hp I really appreciate the torque and rapid pace of the 718 as well as the improved handling. I also appreciate the smaller size of the 718 and it will remind me of those fun days when I drove an E30 in my youth.
</p>

<p>
	There also seem to be good discounts offered on 718s at the moment with their advertisement "Rare Opportunities now on the 718 Cayman..."
</p>

<p>
	I am pretty happy with the configuration of the cars I am considering and the discounts being offered but just wondering if there is anything else worth negotiating for on a new purchase. I mean it doesn't hurt to ask and any tips would be appreciated. I know I will be asking for a new hat as my current  M and Audi hats just don't match!
</p>

<p>
	thanks advance
</p>

<p>
	Don

<p>
	I've been lurking for a while, and thought it time to join.
</p>

<p>
	Been in and around Porsche's from an early age, my Father worked at Hamilton's from the late 70's to the mid 90's as the buyer/valuer and used car manager, many of the old blokes here will no doubt know him. Anyways, I've had a 944 come into my possession with the idea of a resto to my tastes, it's an 83' so the lightest of the lot. No A/C, no P/S, basically no bullshit.
</p>

<p>
	Always loved the transaxle P cars, almost as much as the 911. I Intend on turning into something nice, think RS in idea and execution ( Currently I work within a motorsport team, so putting something like that together shouldn't be to much of a stretch... I hope ) It's also a car that passed through my late fathers hands during the late 80's so there's some sentiment attached to it as well.
</p>

<p>
	Anyways, just for shits and giggles this is me sometime in the 80's at Sandown, maybe 84.

	I’ve been on here for a few years. Had a few 914’s and a 986 Boxster.
</p>

<p>
	Was time I actually posted a few Pix of my 996 that I just got.
</p>

<p>
	History of it. Was Ocean blue, painted Mexico blue, theme has been noted as modern retro. As a package with the Fuchs, ducktail and hounds tooth trim. Makes it a very attractive car.  Front bumper is off a C4S as are the lights.
</p>

<p>
	Exhaust was done by NineAuto. Looks stock and has a nice bark.
