  1. out of curiosity, where is the best place to source some Bilstein Sports for a Carrera 3.2?
  2. yep the 84/85 cars are lighter and more powerful therefore slightly quicker...I've added a cat bypass, M&K 1in 1 out muffler and Steve Wong chip to my 87 which has woken the car up quite a bit, is it as quick as a 915 car? not sure...any well sorted 3.2 regardless of transmission is a wonderful car regardless!
  3. maybe with a rebuilt 915 and a Wevo shifter....
  4. quite a bargain for an Australian delivered 993 manual coupe..despite the mileage the engine rebuild make it a good buy. Even if you had to spend some money on cosmetic touch ups would still make it worthwhile..
  5. whats the point of calling CTS or Autohaus? to get a lowball offer or sense check what the asking price should be?
  6. Very underrated these transaxle Porsches, you will enjoy it Mark. Its great to see it going off to such a great custodian of the brand..I’m sure it will be pampered!!
  7. Sold, thanks to everyone who enquired. Going to a great home and staying in Melbourne!
  8. I think asking close to $200k for SC's and 3.2's is a bit of stretch considering their age where most buyers would also be budgeting for things like top end and gearbox rebuilds etc. I think these were selling quite strongly when they were priced around the $140k mark. BTW the red SC at CTS is not a bitsa! its a very well sorted example of an SC with all the work done by PFA member here in Vic..its a beautiful car in the flesh and very tastefully modified. Just my opinion but I don't think that the non standard paint (slightly darker guards red) or the Sports seats qualify it as a bitsa..still matching numbers I believe.

  10. apparently there is a guy in Darwin, super keen, works on an army base, only contactable by email, wants to pay full asking price and use PayPal blah blah blah.....
  11. Thanks Sean. I was inspired at one stage to get the Fuchsfelge wheels because of your black car!
  12. Yeh I know but has a shorter throw and the shifter sits a little higher and closer to the driver..
  13. Thanks for that Stepo! a lot of guys ringing who have given up on owning an aircooled because of where they are now priced in the market. I try and qualify them before they decide on a test drive. I let them know that whilst its still a Porsche, its not like an air cooled car, so if that's really what you are chasing, you need to save a bit harder. Having said that, the 968 is an amazing driving experience, 50/50 weight distribution handles much better than my 3.2. Big Variocam 3.0 is very torquey and the 6 speed shifts better than my G50 Carrera. My analogy is that a 968 in the 4 cylinder transaxle world is comparable in development to what say a 993 is to the aircooled world (last of the series)..well I think so anyway!
