Took the Countach out to World Time Attack Challenge the other week for a little display. Hilarious reactions from fellow motorists as your cruise down the freeway.
Another drive in the Countach this morning. The more I drive it the more I love it. NOS plug wires and the correct plugs have brought it to life. And they are not as difficult or uncomfortable as the inter web would suggest. Crap visibility yes, but you can’t have everything.
Ps. Thanks to @itsujackfor the detailing lesson yesterday.

OBRUT reacted to b930 in Intro & my 88 930
Hi all, a quick intro and my current Porsche, 88 930. I have worked on air cooled 911's for over 20 years and rebuilt many motors including my previusly own 3.2 Carrera, 3.6 964 and 3.0SC plus firends / family cars. My current old school P car is a matching numbers 88 930 from the UK, imported by me top Perth around 9 years ago. It was completely stock then. While it still looks completely stock now apart from genunie RuF wheels, here is the lastest build specs:
Stock 930 bottom end running Genuine LN 100mm cylinders for 3.5L.
J&E forged 8.5:1 lightweight pistons on lightweight forged LN rods.
3.2 twin plug big port heads with 993 big vales, narrow stems with proper 962C racing retainers, locks and springs (by Performance Developments in California).
Special racing derived copper ring head sealing system by Performance Developments CA, and supertec head studs, 964 cams.
3.2 carrera inlet manifold under a custom large full bay intercooler. Garrett GT3582R twin scroll 1.07A/R turbine. RarlyL8 M&K equal length headers with twin tial 38mm gates. Millemiglia stainless exhaust.
Performance Electronics PE3 sequential ECU, Siemens 72# low Z injectors, full seqential injection and ingnition. Closed loop boost / O2 control.
Aqumist PWM water injection system. J&S safegaurd knock controller with individual cylinder retard.
The motor is by far the most fun and stongest air cooled motor I have ever built, power is nothing short of terrifying. it runs an easy 18psi of boost but I have designed it to run 20psi all day long, but its too much for the street! its not laggy at all, very fast reving and extensive map refinement means it runs, starts and drives perfectly winter or summer.  I also went through and completely rebuilt the 930 4 speed with new synchro hubs/rings/brake bands etc, and also fitted a Wavetrac LSD. Clutch is a lightweight KEP unit from Partick Motorsports in the US. The twin scoll garret is a good match for the motor but I might change to a Borg Warner EFR unit. The big twin scoll housing meand top end 5-7k power is very stong with no feel of dropping off. Power wise I have not had it on a dyno apart from a post run in check at just less than 1 bar with conservative timing, and laid down 400hp at the wheels. It should be doing around 550+ rwhp in its current state, and certainly feels like it.
Other refinements include ploybronze bushes throughout, new shocks, new axles, and more 'new' parts than I can remember. Had it out in the hills today after a few months laid up and the car is just an absolute animal when its on song. A build like this takes a good amount of time and money to accomplish but there is nothing quite like a vicious air cooled motor.....its magic. Doing all my own engine and gearbox build work apart from specialist machining also helps, plus I dont trust anyone else to work on it!  Looking forward to showing you some other projects.....

Upper part of tail unbolts. You will then have to fill the holes and repaint etc. You will also need a new grille for the opening.

Closer to $96k with the buyers premium. I got one cheeky bid away.
Interesting night, most stuff sold for reasonable money.  Number plates still bring pretty good prices.
