  3. http://jalopnik.com/now-singer-teams-up-with-williams-for-bonkers-air-coole-1797660405?utm_source=jalopnik_newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2017-08-09 A quote from the story Singer says the first product of this union is a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated air-cooled flat-six motor rated at 500 horsepower. That’s a pretty fantastic rating for an engine with no turbos or blowers to help. It’s also got a redline past 9,000 RPM, cylinders and pistons with titanium con-rods, aluminum throttle bodies with carbon fiber trumpets, an Inconel and titanium exhaust system, a carbon air box, an enlarged engine cooling fan, and other modifications. Also, Hans Mezger—the longtime Porsche motor impresario we once mulled as the best engine designer of all time—is a technical consultant on the project.
  4. From the text some where on the east German boarder, they dont actually give the town and as they said. Porsche 911 specialist Willi Thom is one of the most elusive men in the world. It took the car-crazed filmmakers of Studio Kippenberger four years just to find Thom, as he has no phone, email or website. This teaser for Kippenberger’s latest film offers a rare look in Thom’s shops.
  5. If you spend way too much time on YouTube as I do searching for Porsche videos, you will have seen the 911 built for the head of Bugatti design, then these are the people who built it Enjoy http://jalopnik.com/the-world-s-most-secret-porsche-and-the-madmen-who-buil-1793638920?utm_source=jalopnik_newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2017-04-10

  8. 30 years ago I owned a Viper Green 73 2.4S (sob) it remains one of my fondest driving memories. The steering is unique and was often called the "Porsche walk" it was a bit off putting untill you got used to it, but it personified the term feedback. It followed the undulations and you learnt to guide it and not fight it, in fact it talked to you through your hands Mechanical injected engines make a unique sound and the throttle response is impressive, 2nd gear and floor the throttle from 4grand it would override any steering input even with XWX,s Handling was far more sublime than all the press would have you believe, I did an advanced driver trading with Ian Luff and even he was stunned at how had it was to get the tail out, instead pushed it would lift the inside front wheel 4inches and you could feel it in the steering as it gained traction again. The S had the ally front calipers latter used on the first Turbo series, and although not assisted had great feel. The only real down side was the early cars don't have fresh air vents. Sadly years latter I discovered there was an Aircon option, I have managed to contact the current owner who has had it for the last 29 years and it remains his favorite Porsche amoungts his collection. Some of you who have been in the NSW Porsche club for a while will know this car but it hasn't been seen for a couple of years.
  9. If I can jump in with buy or not buy, whats peoples thoughts 964 Tiptronics converted to Manuals. I am aware that it is an enthusiast will always want an original manual, which appears to be quite rare. Is the Value added only to that of the cost of the conversion? or is there an extra value to the car. The Car I am thinking of is an a via South Africa import.
