  1. http://www.rba.gov.au/calculator/ Adjusted for inflation they are actually dearer these days. It's crazy how much house prices have jumped in real terms!
  2. Great morning, thanks to all those that made it. Photo album from the morning https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1540901442877668.1073741832.1510475192586960&type=3
  3. I've done some reading on these and asked a few people about these and they all seem to be pretty bogus unfortunately. As has been said above lifeguard utes and such are usually sold after 3 years. A few of my friends who are lifeguards have suggested never to purchase an ex-surf patrol car due to them rusting up.
  4. Apologies for the late update, very busy time of the year! Great mix of cars were present at the last event. We had a fantastic 997 Turbo in attendance as well as an assortment of other classic and modern performance cars. It was nice seeing an L-Plater behind the wheel of the G-Series. He certainly didn't shy away from taking it through the rev range. The Corvette in attendance was very interesting to observe up close. The owner, Andrew, was showing me around the car and pointing out some of the features. I was amazed at the sheer level of engineering and thought that has gone into the car, especially considering its price point. It's quite easy to dismiss the Corvette as a simple car with a big motor, which it is, but its impressive that way GM has been able to finesse a pushrod motor with cutting edge tech and construction and make it all reliable and most of all affordable package. The ring times alone are remarkable! I was also lucky enough to snag a drive in the Delta Integrale after the event. The response and mid range thrust was phenomenal. Considering its roots as a small hatchback from the 70's I was impressed with its poise and eagerness to change direction. It's easy to see how they were so successful on the world rally circuit. All in all a very fun morning. Hopefully we'll see a few more P-cars at the next event on 16th April 2016. Andrew
  5. THIS SATURDAY NEW LOCATION - [238 Mudgeeraba Rd, Mudgeeraba QLD 4213] / Cars & Coffee Gold Coast - 19/march/2016 Facebook event link: https://www.facebook.com/events/1570476756601183/
  6. Despite a somewhat soggy start to the to the morning, the resolve of the attendees was rewarded - it didn't rain once for the event! With people driving from as far as Brisbane and the Northern Rivers area we had an interesting and eclectic mix of vehicles, ranging from the pre war period to current day performance icons. Special mention must go to Manuel attending in his race-prepped Alfa Romeo 1750, it must have been quite an unforgiving drive! People's car of the day was unanimously awarded to the absolutely stunning 1965 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost III. Overall, it was a great morning with everyone staying for a couple of hours to converse all things automotive. Andrew

  8. Hey Chris, will try and get down there for the next meet. It's been a while since my last visit. I'm really liking the idea of a Gold Coast event though. The thought of not having an early wakeup on a saturday is making me happy!
  9. Unfortunately no Gold Coast event that I know of symsy. I usually just trek to Brisbane to get my fix. It would be good if there was a GC event, I'd definitely appreciate not having having to wake up at 530. Would love to have a poke around and see what's underneath, If I see it again I'll flag the owner down. I don't see too many classic Pcars up this way.
  10. I remember seeing a similar article in UK Evo a few years back. Not sure if they syndicate articles though... I'll try and dig it up tonight. That's the article I was thinking about! Thanks for saving me finding the magazine and scanning it in. That's the article I was thinking about! Thanks for saving me finding the magazine and scanning it in.
