  1. Been to see that one. Something wasn’t right about it. Little service history (low km but not serviced regularly over time) scrape down the rear wheel arch from reversing out the driveway, no sticker under the hood (damaged?). Not a good vibe

Hey @LeeM did you take a look at the car when you was in buik? I have tried calling Craig a few times but didn’t get through. Decided to email instead.
  3. The auto silver has been on CS for a long time. Iv seen cars come and go with less km for the same price, but I guess km isn’t everything. Tried to view it a few times but the owner was always busy when I was free. That seal grey one is lovely, such a nice looking car! if your searching only in NSW what about http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/wagga-wagga/cars-vans-utes/2000-porsche-boxster-s-convertible/1198381841?utm_campaign=socialbuttons&utm_content=app_ios&utm_medium=social&utm_source=ios_social

Just been to test drive the black 2.7, the gearbox is much nicer than the few Ss I have driven. My take this time was that the S can be in any gear and it goes, the base needs to be in the right gear for a quick get a way. Made an offer on it, and he is thinking about it. Nice car with all the right work done, he does all the work himself and even shown me the old clutch, pressure plate etc, AOS, IMS that he has taken out too. Has all receipts for parts nicely filed away, I like that, exactly how I organise my own cars.
  5. This. I use my phone data allll the time, tether it as a local data hotspot for my laptop where emails are huge and I access the work server for large files. I download music watch videos etc. Never come close to 9gb a month. I would suggest monitoring your usage using the phones data counter, this website is great to give you a few ways on how to track it... Id make sure you use every bit of data you have - not much in this world is free https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-203744/ From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen. These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout. Navigate: Settings > Connections > Data usage. From the Mobile section, tap Billing cycle and data warning. Tap the Limit mobile data usage switch to turn on . If prompted, review the message then tap OK. Tap Data limit. Enter the desired level (e.g., 2.0GB) then tap SET.

Looks great! I will give them a call tomorrow and find out more. Although ‘low km’ usually means it’s hovering around the $30k mark. Im still undecided on what’s a better buy a 2.7 with money spent on all the major items v a 3.2 that has only had a clutch (no IMs) and needs new tyres.

Haha yeah, the dealer even tried to make it out like it was no issue. “Oh yeah, it’s normal, I go straight into 3rd just like in my 997”

So although life has been keeping me busy and distracted from looking for my toy I have kept on the market at a distance. id like to know the forums view on following the advice to “buy the best car you can afford.” All things being equal, price, age, km, condition the S is the better car over the 2.7. But what is the view on better car if both are the same age, km, condition and price - but the 2.7 has had clutch, IMS, lowering springs and some suspension maintenance, tyres, AOS. The S just has a clutch replacement. 2.7 https://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Porsche-Boxster-2000/SSE-AD-5525921 S https://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Porsche-Boxster-2000/SSE-AD-5509132 Would you take the S anyway or see the 2.7 as the better buy due to the maintenance taken? Also Just in case anyone is looking for a Boxster too I took a drive down to Illawarra to test drive this after I got the dealer to send me all the paperwork, which was very extensive, recent $3k major service, new tyres and $2k exhaust upgrade at ram speed. I spoke to the old owner who had it for around 6 years and sounded like it was cherished. Traded it in for a new mustang. However driving it the 2nd gear was nonexistent- next! http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/barrack-heights/cars-vans-utes/2000-porsche-boxster-s-black-6-speed-manual-roadster/1195670293?utm_campaign=socialbuttons&utm_content=app_ios&utm_medium=social&utm_source=ios_social
  9. This guys makes the Tiptronic look much better than the forum debates on “manual v tip” would have you believe too.
  10. Full extended leather and sports seats too. Wonder if it has the sports chassis to match.
  11. this looks nice and tidy. https://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Porsche-Boxster-1997/SSE-AD-5492584
  12. Have a read on the previous page, you will see evidence to answer your question. this seems like a good buy, if the maintenance records are as good as the dealer says. He’s had it for a while, was originally 23k I think. Called him up a while ago to view when I was down there, but he said it was in a body shop to fix a ding/crack in the bumper. Haven’t been back since - anyone from that way want to kick a true? http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/barrack-heights/cars-vans-utes/2000-porsche-boxster-s-black-6-speed-manual-roadster/1195670293?utm_campaign=socialbuttons&utm_content=app_ios&utm_medium=social&utm_source=ios_social
