This shape was my childhood dreams was about . I remember the first time I saw one was on a family holiday in Sydney . I asked my dad why he didn't have one and he told me because he had kids . It really put me off having kids for some time .

Ha, Nothing wrong with that silver GT3 of yours mate!
It’s all personal choice, but I reckon guards red suits the GT3 better than Zanzibar.
But then again, I’d choose a blue every time...

Would love to drive one to see if it’s worth $200K over my wheels! (Ignoring collectability considerations, of course!).

Thanks mate, I appreciate it. All I'm (we) are told is that if anyone works on a construction site as a sub contractor (robes, tilers, painters, any trade who doesn't possess a building license) must possess a 'contractors license' which must include a supervisors certificate. I contacted Master Builders association, and they want $59/month to join, $580 for their subsidised course, police check, then $250 for the license per year. I'm just perplexed, as I have liability insurance, white card and everything else I needed, yet the contractors license does nothing? Just a rort by the government I reckon.
@TINGY996 @EUROPA570 @Niko  @P-Kay The meeting went well thanks. I'd highly recommend Furphy beer if you lot enjoy the amber liquid...Oh you mean the interview? Ah yeah that was good thanks. Will do a couple of days onsite next week to see if I like it etc (their suggestion), yet it's the boss and crew that sound like a bloody good mob to work for and learn new skills which I'm always up for. I'd rather earn less money and be happy, than bust my arse for a little more cash and be unhappy ever day. Will see how it goes, yet the ball is now rolling to get out of what I'm doing now and this sounds very positive.
    Cheers all 👍

Text offers shit me if your going to low ball at least have the courtesy to call the seller direct .
This should never have been a topic of discussion on a forum to start with most certainly not a copied and pasted text message conversation .
Regardless on how the seller reacted you should not have pissed your pants and brought here to be honest

I've bought several cars from interstate (why are they always in bloody Perth!) where it's not practical to go see it.  I usually start with a call, as the old saying goes you buy the owner more than the car.  If I get a good feeling about the seller and the car, then I usually ask who else knows the car and then speak to them.  Often a local workshop or similar.  Once I am comfortable then more discussions with the seller and sometimes there is some text back and forth with specific queries, offers, counter offers until we have a deal.  Then deposit subject to "it being what you say it is".  I bought a 964C2 this way ex Perth, flew over and it was as expected, easy.  I've since bought 2 cars ex Perth sight unseen, transferred by EFT and first saw the car when it got delivered.  Risky but they were track cars where mechanical condition was verified and cosmetics were not critical.  Happy every time.
on the flip side when selling the GT2 I had multiple, repeated offers by text typically 30% or more below the ask and all sorts of garbled justification for why my car wasn't worth X. I either ignore them or reply with call me to discuss (they never do) or "how's get fucked sound".  Can't be stuffed having an argument via text with someone who is clearly not my buyer.
i don't see a great problem with the opening text (but agree a call is always better) but the responses and ongoing exchange became a bit petty.  As soon as the seller starts taking a swipe and justifying his price then clearly there's no deal to be done, I'd have ignored him and moved on.

See heres the dilemma now, if they only pay to repair this one side (which I'm sure is the worse case scenario under insurance) the right side will look mismatched as its got wear & tear... so I am most likely going to take this opportunity to repair and repaint the entire car. I'm not sure how much out of pocket I'll be for that, but we will see what we can work out!
Its booked in next month, so I'll just deal with it as it eventuates... I am tired of trying to pre-empt outcomes with this fucking car...  they never end well.

I certainly don't  see myself as the arbiter of good form, but , having said that I think you're well within your right to make any offer you're comfortable with, and he is likewise able to reply however he sees fit.
However copying and pasting the exchange on a public forum does neither he or you any favours.

I reckon it is pretty sharply priced.... Mk 1’s  are getting plenty of collector attention in Pommy Land, and are likely to become the darlings of the early GT cars.
Gotta be worth more in 5 years than it is today.
