Great colour combo with the green and gold! What paint code is that?
  2. I’ve sourced dust cap kits from Qld Speaker Repairs before and they’ve been good to me. Recommended for those going down the DIY path.
  3. A 944 as a chippy’s car of choice. Haven’t come across that one before but good on him for making use of the large hatch. 😆
  4. Took mine for a 200km+ drive today (Numinbah Valley and quick run across the border). Heaps of fun and didn’t miss a beat. These cars are still so under-appreciated!
  5. It was a BMW 135i (twin turbo) mate. 250rwkw on a basic tune with bolt ons. 😎The 125i is the NA version. To the OP - I had one for 3.5 years and it was a fantastic car. The 2008-mid-2010 is the N54 twin turbo engine (same as in the 1M). The late 2010 onwards use the N55 twin scroll single turbo engine. They are both excellent engines and respond very well to tuning. The N55 is arguably more reliable but the N54 has better performance potential. The engines themselves are very strong. It’s the ancilliaries that are the common failure points e.g rattling wastegates, high pressure fuel pump, injectors, water pump etc. My car was perfect the whole time apart from a dead water pump at the 60kkm mark. Treat it with respect and it will look after you. If you’re after a two door auto or dual clutch then I’d recommend a 135i or even a 335i (put some money aside for maintenance though). If you’re after a four door then like others have said, I’d go test drive a VW Golf GTI or R. Happy hunting. 😊
  6. I’m personally not a fan of side skirts on 944s. Like you say, I think they take away from the stock aggressive wheel arches. They also seem to create a weird ‘step’ down the side profile of the car. Just my 2c. 😊
  7. Fair enough Chris. You should bring it to Cars & Coffee Jindalee this weekend. I’d love to see it before you sell it!
  8. @Rob Are you sick of driving AWD Audi’s yet? Surely you need another 944 in your life...😉 Any plans for a replacement Chris?
  9. No longer required. Had the gas pressure on my new struts lowered and now they are excellent. 👍
  10. PM sent.
  11. Always handy to have a working defroster! How is your clutch change, dash recover etc going Brian?
  12. Hi all Checking if anyone has an old driver’s side hatch strut they no longer need. Must still work i.e. hold the hatch up when raised and light/defroster still has continuity. My current one has no continuity for the defroster but I’m not keen to use a new one due to the extra force it places on the hatch frame and glass. Let me know what you have. 😊
  13. Digging up an old thread. Does anyone have a glass fitter/resealer in Brisbane they can recommend? My S2 hatch has developed a hatch leak. It appears the previous attempt to reseal my hatch 2 years ago hasn’t lasted. The sealant is just flaking off with my fingernail. The frame doesn’t look to have separated though.
  14. I looked into RHD Llyod mats but apparently they aren't made. Didn't even consider the LHD version fitting though. If you happen to snap a photo of the driver's side footwell it would be great to see how well they fit.
  15. I don't think this is the problem. In my experience, the AU spec S2's run the fog lights with both parking lights or main driving lights on. The 'fog light' button just makes them even brighter.
  16. @Bobby44 Great looking restoration. Can I ask where you sourced your carpet mats from?
  17. You just need to turn it into a 500hp firebreathing 3L Turbo then you’ll be giggling like a little school girl rather than looking longingly over at your GTI. 😉
  18. From what I can tell those front and rear brake rotors will only fit the following: - Porsche 944 1987-1989- Porsche 944S 1987-1988 If this is not the case and they will fit an S2 then I would gladly take them off your hands.
  19. Have you tried your local Porsche dealer? I picked up a couple of excellent A0 size posters from them during the 70th anniversary celebration. They are proudly hung up in some snap frames in my garage now - 919, 917 etc.
  20. Congrats on your new purchase. Post up some more pics when you can! :D
  21. Exciting news. Maybe they can finally make the Panamera rear end look good in 2 door coupe form. 😭 I like the idea of a modern, front engined, four seat, big boot, 2 door Porsche sports car. 👍
  22. Any luck tracking down the car yet Sean? I hope for Shane's sake it is recovered in only 1-2 pieces...
  23. I'd sooner have a Porsche than a Ferrari anyway...
  24. Good plan. What else do you have in store for your cluster? Integrated Racepak dash...😜
  25. That's a great idea Timm! I did read some people have tried LED strips but I didn't see any evidence that the dimmer would still function. In most cases they were suggesting the dimmer wouldn't work with LEDs due to the reduced voltage. How long have you had your LED strip installed? So the strip doesn't rely on the reflective coating at all and sits on the outside of the window/tunnel? I'm sure this will make more sense once I've pulled out my cluster. @Jason E - We can have a crack together if you like. What's the worst that could happen...huge fire and it goes up in flames! As an aside, thought I would post up this very handy tutorial for those who might go one step further from the cluster and pull the whole dash out for recovering. @brian in buddina How is your project coming along? http://www.klaindustries.net/technical/porsche944dashremovalinstallation.pdf
