  1. Hi All Been lurking as a guest for a while. I’ve wanted a 997 Turbo for years. Now in a position to own one. Need advice on what to look out for. Carsales prices for a 997.1 Turbo vary wildly from $140k to $200k+ for seemingly similar cars with similar kms. The cars at the $150k level have been for sale for a while now (maybe ~2+ months), is that a red flag? Redbook says a 2007 997.1 Turbo should cost ~$110k. Are they way off, or should I expect to be able to negotiate the carsales price down considerably? Bang for buck, what is your opinion on appropriate spend vs. kms? What else should I be worried about? Thanks for your help!
  2. I'm in the process of getting new rear tyres - PS2 305/30 R19, here in Perth. The best that Michelin can offer (in stock) are tyres that were manufactured 14 months ago. Considering 6 year life limit (I have Porsche Extended warranty), that gives me less than 5 years for a $1150 outlay. For many owners not a problem, but as I do very low km's (2010 997.2 with 38,000 km; and getting less each year), I'm not likely to be replacing these new tyres on tread limits. Not sure if the problem is due to being in Perth - low turn over and we probably get sent the old stock from Michelin in the first place. If anybody has recently purchased the same tyre(s), I would be interested in hearing what their manufacture dates were. I've been trying to contact Michelin Australia to see if they can accommodate low km owners with manufacture dates that are closer to fitment date - haven't had much success or interest from them so far. Also I must compliment TyrePower Claremont - very helpful getting details on manufacture date, etc, - if only the same could be said about Michelin

  4. Hi all, proud owner of a 997.2 3.6 manual (which I found on this site) so cheers to PFA and its members. Love the car but would like a bit more exhaust note. Appreciate any recommendations of what and where you might have done exhaust wise to your 997. I’m located in Sydney. Thanks in advance.

  6. I was looking at car sales and noticed that there were no 997.2 manuals! Not one! Nothing at all... I heard not many were made but I was very surprised! I am actually selling mine to fuel my air cooled passion so I can add another oldie to the collection (diclosure; so you will see mine if you look). BUT... when I was on carsales they have a tool and you can check what similar cars have sold and that said only 1 997.2 manual had sold in the last -12 months... I was astounded! Does anybody know the stats? Very keen to know

  8. Hi PF, Just want to know what you guys think of 997.2 Turbo S? There are actually not a lot of information about them vs Turbo. For example I can't find the official built numbers for them. From what I know 2000 were built worldwide and 500 of them are RHD but thats through other forums but nothing factual. Also from memory last two that got listed on carsales were asking for $279k white and black and both were relatively low mileage around 20k. What do you think the current rate is for a good example? Would they go up in value, considering the current 991 turbo S are around $400k mark? Thanks
