  1. I recently purchased a 981 base cayman that had nearly all the features I wanted... sports Chrono + sports steering, however, no sports exhaust which I am finding quite lacking at the moment. Looking into aftermarket options, it's difficult to find any local 981 owners who have aftermarket exhausts and thereby making it even harder for me to make a decision on which one to buy let alone source one in general! If anyone can help me out with recommendations of what exhaust and where to source it from local, it would be much appreciated! So far I have scoped out PSE = $5.5k fitted = expensive, maintains OEM look however not quite worth the cost to me Borla = $4k = seems quite loud, doesn't have butterfly valve Armytrix = $6k = seems just loud even with butterfly valve

  7. Hi guys, I know this may be a long shot but wondering if anyone in the Melbourne area has one of those basic Catback exhausts for the 986 as I'd like to hear it in person as I am looking to buy one soon if I can find a reasonable price in Australia. Cheers Pic attached of what i'm talking about
  8. Hi, looking for some help from Adelaide members (@LeeM, @‌StewF come to mind). I have a 2004 2.7 manual Boxster. I was after getting a bit more burble/nice note at higher RPM's and after couple phone calls ended up at Exhuast Plus (they indicated that they has worked on Porsches and Ferraris previously). Long story short, after 3 days and 3 different muffler boxes (initially straight throughs that made your teeth rattle and ears bleed between 2000 and 3000 RPM, sounded fantastic above 3000) have ended up with something that is a mild improvement. I think that there is something a bit better but not confident to take it back to the same shop. Is there any businesses that members would recommend that know what they are doing with Porsche flat 6's, in particular not getting resonance/drone around the 2500 RPM mark. I asked at Buik when I got the car services but they haven't come back with a recommendation. Thanks in advance Michael
  9. I've got some items that I no longer need and want to clear room for... 1. 997 GT3 Cup muffler & Side muffler delete pipes. I bought this setup for my car for just over $4000 from PCM (Have receipts). This setup bolts directly on to the headers and removes the two side mufflers behind the rear wheels, before joining a centre muffler. The centre muffler looks much like the OEM one but is basically a straight pipe. This sheds a lot of weight and is said to be good for around 10whp up top. I had this on the car for one weekend, at Phillip Island the extra power was noticeable in the higher RPMs, but please note that this is bloody loud, as there's no more valve control. If you use your car a lot on the track then this will be good for you, if it's on the road then it might not be a good solution as there is quite a lot of drone between 2.5-3k RPM. Asking price is $3000 or best offer. 2. I have a set of Pirelli Pzero Corsa (N-spec) tyres in 235/35/19 & 305/30/19. These were fitted brand new on my car when I bought it from PCB in March last year. I did one track day on them and about 1000 road kms. They have about 85-90% tread remaining and no unusual wear. The sidewalls and shoulders are in great condition, the only reason I took these off was to try out the Pzero Trofeo R. Looking to get $1000 or best offer Please call/sms 0428 891 986 - Jonathan
  10. Hi all For sale is the axle back exhaust off my Porsche 944 S2. It is 2.5in stainless steel with a FlowMaster muffler and only about 18 months old. Only selling because it is a little loud for my quiet neighbourhood. It has a really nice aggressive and angry note but would probably suit a track car or weekend only car. It should fit any 924/944/968 to my knowledge. Located Brisbane southside $300 negotiable Send me a PM if interested
  11. Anyone had these Dansk sport mufflers fitted on the 996/997.1 ? Considering getting it, but concern about droning at cruising speed http://www.design911.com/Porsche-997-Exhaust-Muffler--Silencer-Set-Sound-Version-Dansk-97300SEXP-1620609870/prod5536/
  12. I'm advertising these parts on behalf of a 911-loving friend. It may take me some time to provide answers in the forum so any enquiries are best directed by phone or SMS to Jim on 0423 048 776. Items are located in Toowoomba, Queensland. Why's Jim not posting this himself? He's an independent mechanic specialising in European cars. He also owns and races a couple of 911s. He's better with motors than modems, so he fixes my cars and I help him with all things digital, such as this ad. 17. Hello All Looking to get an aftermarket exhaust system for my 997 Turbo. Wondering if anyone had any recommendations for places to go in Sydney (either fit only if they will let me buy online from the USA, or supply and fit). Ive already spoken to one or two places who seem to be most helpful, but also wondering if anyone here had any recommendations. If its of any relevance at all, I quite fancy the Cargraphic exhaust with valves, but this isn't set in stone. Any advice/input much appreciated. Thank you JKay
  18. Hi all, Firstly I did a search on the forum, rennlist and 911uk but no specific details to my question. I have 997.1 Carerra with PSE. I have the exhaust button to open and close the baffles and currently have the plug disconnected in the engine bay so its open all the time. Great noise, but I would like it a little louder and throatier So, what are some exhaust (sections) upgrades that I could consider that will still work in conjunction with my PSE? - I believe the baffles are located in the big mufflers behind the rear wheels so I wouldn't be changing them. Doing a search I was considering the following which (I THINK) will give me a louder note but not effect the functionality of the PSE unit? http://www.cargraphicts.com/index.php?id=120303&L=1 - 11th, 12th and 13th options from cargraphic 11th Sport Catalytic Converter Set "X" - Pipe VersionOBD2 compliant with 200Cell Catalytic Converters No ECU programming required and no CEL 12th Catalytic Converter Replacement Pipe Set Crossover VersionWithout Catalytic Converters Assuming this is definitely illegal without cats? 13th Catalytic Converter Replacement Pipe Set "X" - Pipe Version"X"-pipe version without catalytic converters Assuming this is definitely illegal without cats? 19. So on the last SMT run (chasing Billy to Bathurst), the secondary muffler finally succumbed and I blew a decent hole in the side of it: Apparently this is not uncommon when running a cup pipe (which I've been running since purchase, installed by previous owner). On the plus side this opens up some exhaust options: 1. Repair or replace secondary and repeat (with a likely failure again sometime down the track) 2. Replace secondary muffler with a g-pipe bypass (cheapest option but likely too loud in conjunction with cup pipe) 3. Find a primary muffler and remove the cup pipe and install a g-pipe in place of secondary (need to source both) 4. Install a complete new system (Fabspeed?) including high performance cat? Thoughts, and anyone willing to part with either muffler or a g pipe?

  23. After a couple weeks of searching; I think I've found my new Porsche Boxster 986 for my first "real car" that I didn't buy with the change floating around my couch cushions. Being somewhat 'uneducated' with both porsches and cars; I'm after some simple advice without the standard 'If you're after that you shouldn't have bought a Porsche' comments. The first two big things to do on my list are firstly its wheels, they're the completely stock standard ones that came with it in 1997, and boy do they look their age. The only thing on the car that has aged, where should I look for inexpensive (sub $1,000) sets of nicer wheels/rims? And secondly I really want to find a way to give the car some sort of tone, instead of the silence it has unless you're flooring it. Exhaust tips/mods on PURELY just making her sound better, without harming her. Any any other advice; little inexpensive things I should purchase; any after-market places for Porsche?
