  1. Hi, I am planning to sell my 911E and am thinking of selling it through Collecting Cars. I had it advertised on Carsales but got some people 'interested in the car' but just coming for test drives, so pulled the car off Carsales. It's an original right hand drive, matching numbers 1969 911E. Original Sportomatic. Original inside and outside colour. It originally was a South African delivered car, which I imported some years ago. Very good condition. Any feedback on value is very much appreciated. Also, are there better ways to sell?

  3. As per title, i'm going to let go of the 944na. 1986, Oval dash, Manual, Naturally aspirated, Australian delivered, Champagne (burgundy interior), Non smoker, 190k, registered until July 2017 (QLD) with roadworthy. It's a solid mechanical car, that i'll probably regret selling. Spent a bit on it, with nothing major forecast (mechanic can verify) Interior is good condition with a couple of dash cracks but otherwise all better than to be expected. One wear hole in the bolster of the driver seat, otherwise seats are very good condition (redone 8years ago) Carpets all very good. Rear cover very good working order. Has been a garaged car, so interior fading has not taken effect. everything works, AC isn't very cold. Power windows and power seat all works. 1 AC slide knob is missing. Stearing wheel decent condition, couple of scratches. Tint on the windows show a couple of scratches also. Body work is fair. An honest description is that it needs some love. Couple of small bumps and scratches, that i've been meaning to have touched up, but the more you look the more you find, so i haven't really got started. The clear has cracked on the sunroof (common issue), couple of cracks in the body kit. Has original (and very good condition) phone dial wheels, with good condition Bridgestone Potenza's all round. No cracks in any glass, boot works perfect (the o'ring cover for the boot lock has gone missing - unsure of where on the road it'll be found..) Mechanically very good. Does have a very light leak at the front of the engine. Not enough to worry roadworthy, so quite minor. Mechanic has confirmed that it's a collar at the front, and requires a bit of stuffing about to access and fix. The kit is only $140 for 4 collars but labor to carry out the work would take some hours. Mechanic agreed that monitoring would be sufficient for now. Brand new brake pads and reconditions pistons (last week). Did the pistons while doing the pads as it was easier. Just had full service (3 weeks ago) runs and pulls a treat. Always starts first time and idles well, no smoke and no issues. Mechanically the car is very good, steering is solid, breaks great, power good, i'd jump in a drive to Sydney without even thinking about it. The car is good. I love it, but i'm going to start looking for a Porsche with an engine in the back.... Would consider part trades etc.. Advertising here first before i succumb to the carsale route.
  4. Hi All, New to the site, so look fwd to getting to know members. I own a 1983 911 sc and mechanically is 100%. Unfortunately it is no longer cosmetically 100% (see attached pics). I was the victim of a P platers tow bar on an old Hyundai Elantra. I am now contemplating the costs of repair as apposed to selling as is. This pains me as I really love the car and have looked after it since I bought it over 7 years ago. Just looking for the opinion of people with experience in the repairs area. As you know to look after a car like this costs money, therefore hate to think of the repair costs associated with damage i.e. front bonnet, left wing and bumper. Anyway let me know your thoughts. And before anybody mentions insurance, no have technicalities with that as I froze insurance when the car was in with mechanic (for over a year as he was experiencing health problems) and this is now out of my own pocket. Raging! Sorry trying to figure out how to upload as size is limited. Attached damage by towbar. Ouch, my poor little girl.

  6. SOLD - Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera Engine and Gearbox Thanks for everyone's interest. The engine and gearbox have found a suitable home. Congratulations to the new owner. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This engine and gearbox was taken from an 84 Cabriolet before having a ground-up rebuild by Spyder Automobiles founder John Gregory, and Mike Jacobson in 2002. It was then fitted into a 1974 911 (the Lockwood family 911) where it travelled a lazy 30,000 kms by the former owner, retired truck driver Brian Lockwood, my late father. Total cost of the build - ~$30K. This is a very strong engine and has never been raced (in any way). The best is yet to be enjoyed – the engine never had a chance to be fully utilised. Many hours and great care were involved in this build. Notable features above standard at the time of the build: · Optimised inlet manifold flow rate · Increased compression · Minor head optimisation (port matching, valve) · SSI heat exchangers (HPC coated) · Dual outlet sports muffler (HPC coated) · Wolf 3d v4 ECU (professionally custom tuned) · 915 gearbox rebuilt with new LSD · New clutch kit Why is this engine for sale? Brian was diagnosed with terminal illness in 2008. The car was effectively in storage from then until August 2013. It was then that Brian advised me he wanted the original 2.7 engine to be back at home in the car and he requested I take on the management of that project. I contacted Spyder Automobiles and Mike planned and executed the project. Brian passed away shortly after and left the car in my care. The engine and gearbox were inspected after removal, given a clean bill of health and have been in storage at Spyder Automobiles since (compression in all cylinders being above average at 185 – 200 PSI). I had intended to keep the engine, however I do not have a use for it and it deserves to be at home in a Porsche, thus I have decided to part with it. Offers over $17,000 Owner: Andrew Lockwood – 0417 911 968 Technical Contact: Mike Jacobson – 0407 901 356 Location: Spyder Automobiles Picture taken at time of build:
  7. Hi Everyone, I need help putting an approximate price on my 911 to basically just see what it's worth as it stands. I imported it from California, and it is currently still left hand drive. It is registered as a 1977 Porsche 911, however this is only the chassis and VIN, the body has been completely (and properly) replaced with an authentic 993 Turbo Aero body, the engine is now a 'tuned up' 3.2 litre from a newer model Porsche with a sports exhaust (which I believe has had about 40000 kms on it since the changes), and it currently sits on a brand new set of chrome Gemballa turbo wheels. The chassis is currently in process of being made rust free. The interior (white/light creme) is in decent condition with all the seats intact, only a single crack in the dashboard and a momo race wheel. With regard to the paintwork it is a deep blue colour with multiple scratches and stone chips and in my personal opinion it is in definite need of a repaint. Thats the basic specs for the car, there are a couple of cars like this on the internet ranging between 40 and 60 grand but I'm not sure I'd get that (but you never know), if you would like to know anything else in order to value it more precisely just let me know. Cheers
  8. Hi All, Since moving house last year, priorities have changed for me and I don't see myself finishing the project I've started with my 928. The car is an 81S with the 5 Speed manual, which I have been restoring on and off for the last two years. It's a runner, however I have the instrument cluster out right now (to replace the odometer cog). Photos of the car can be seen on the following web album: https://picasaweb.google.com/102285921942139867246/Porsche92802?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCPH9xvyW1tXT1gE&feat=directlink To finish it off, I was planning on the following: - Bit more panel work then paint - Interior tidy up (Have replacement switches and other bits and pieces already) - Mechanical touch up (Already have most of the bits, vacuum/oil lines, brake pads, etc.) The car is located on the north side of Brisbane, if anyone is interested let me know and I'll forward on my details. As I'd prefer for it to go to a forum member rather than to ebay or for parts. Looking for around $6k for the lot. Regards, Jeff
