  1. Living on the wrong side of the harbour (inner west) I have been in search of a specialist Porsche workshop that is more local and one that offers a bit more of a personalized service. Today I finally got around to dropping in to Cavaco Motors in Glebe. I have heard good things about Cavaco but never dropped in there to talk P-cars. Dave and his father (Carlos) are absolutely passionate about air cooled 911's and they have an amazing knowledge of these cars. Carlos drives a very cool SC. They have some very tasty work going on there at the moment and it was great to see a complete restoration of a 70 something 911S and a complete engine re-built for a gorgeous Aust delivered 930 (I wonder if these owners are on PFA?). I was at Cavaco to talk all things 964 and was blown away by Dave's knowledge. They are very much P-car purists. My 964 is booked in for a complete brake upgrade and some suspension work. So if you are looking for a workshop to take care of your air cooled P-car and you live on the wrong side of the harbour it might be worth your while checking out Cavaco.
  2. Sold! Thanks to Reuben. Cleaning out the garage, I have a Monty 2-in 1-out muffler for sale, very lightly used. I had it on my 1980 SC (with SSIs) for less than a year, replaced it with a Dansk Sport. The model from the Monty website is the 'M21 1974-76 75mm Single Outlet'. Would like $500 for it, but open to reasonable offers. In the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. cheers Al 0418 222 357
  3. Hello All Looking to get an aftermarket exhaust system for my 997 Turbo. Wondering if anyone had any recommendations for places to go in Sydney (either fit only if they will let me buy online from the USA, or supply and fit). Ive already spoken to one or two places who seem to be most helpful, but also wondering if anyone here had any recommendations. If its of any relevance at all, I quite fancy the Cargraphic exhaust with valves, but this isn't set in stone. Any advice/input much appreciated. Thank you JKay
  4. Hi all - an overdue post introducing myself. I've been more active on Pelican (aldente295 there as well) but lately there's nothing but tumbleweeds in the local forums over there. My name's Alan, the car's a 1980 911SC ('Brian') I brought over from California when I moved to Sydney about 7 years ago. I'm originally from Canada but was dragged over here almost 20 years ago by my wife who's from Perth. Living in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney and have been doing track days through the Jag club (of all things) and CSCA for the past five years or so. Would desperately love to upload a photo or two, but can't for the life of me figure out how to make them small enough to meet the size limitation!... used to be good at this stuff too. :-P I'll do a little reading of the help files and post a follow up once I figure it out. cheers Al ...and now it just works. Weird. Anyway here's Brian in his best racing pose.
  5. Cleaning out the garage, I've got a new Bosch fuel filter I bought in error some time ago. I'm not sure what car this is supposed to be for, but the part number is Bosch 0 450 905 079. There seems to be a fair bit of confusion on fuel filters vs model years from what I've read, so you might want to eyeball your filter before purchasing!.. I don't recall what I paid for it, but $30 seems fair, or make me a reasonable offer. I'm in Sydney (Eastern Suburbs), work in the CBD, or can ship at buyer's expense... cheers Al

Rennsport is back! Porsche has announced that it's Sydney Motor Racing Festival was such a success that they're bring it back again for 2016. Full of amazing things to see, it truly is the place to be for Pcar enthusiasts everywhere. Including a massive exhibition of Australia's most famous Porsches, from historic racing icons to mighty modern marvels, as well as a special guest appearance all the way from the vault of the Stuttgart Porsche Museum, the 935-77 and the LMP1-98, for your rare viewing pleasure. In addition to those rare finds, there will be the perfect chance to spy the new 2017 models for the all new 911R, 718 and Macan. Rennsport has something for everyone! You can even bring the kids along and bring the enthusiast out in them early with Porsche's Kid Zone Driving School where they will learn and test their steering ability. With whispers of Southerners heading up, and Northerners travelling down, it looks like it'll be a whole-east-coast affair with PFA members driving in from all over. You won't want to miss out on this enormous event!
  7. hi Mates, Picked up Cayenne turbo 2004 last week. Initially the expansion was leaking so i got it fixed from the dealer, after i had to go get the leak checked from Porsche Center in Parramatta sydney. 8. Another Time Lapse of the Cayman S and Sydney's stormy weather. Enjoy!
  9. Greeting fellow P-Car lovers. I'm looking to get the front leather seats in my 964 reupholstered. The seats are showing a little wear and I'm just looking to take them back to their original appearance. Can anyone recommend any good reupholsters in Sydney and preferably in the inner west region. Thanks.
  10. Having waited nearly four weeks for the completion of repairs to my new purchase the Healey Factory have indicated that this Wednesday might be the day. Very exciting, and not wanting to wait another week for a transporter I was thinking of flying down to Melbourne and driving back to Sydney. Has anyone done this and has any advice/suggestions?
  11. Hi guys, What I have for sale is a brand new - in box, Porsche 996 or Boxster S 986 (6 spd) original equipment leather gearknob in black for sale. It will fit any 996 or Boxster S up to 2002 I ordered this from porscheshop.co.uk, and only just received it. Stupidly I selected the 6 speed gear knob, instead of the 5 speed, and now have a nice new 6 speed gear knob that I can't use. It is brand new, literally opened the box a few minutes ago to have my heart sink, with the realisation it was the wrong knob. It looks nice though. Nice new leather. new photo just taken here: PorscheGearKnob by wilch, on Flickr I paid $289.81 AUD for it. I'll let it go for $250 pick up (located in Sydney), or postage extra. It has never been used, and is brand new. Let my stupidity be your gain! Willing to meet at Thornleigh McDonald's if you'd like to pick up. Otherwise post preferred, and will check with the post office for prices for anyone that would like it posted. Please PM, or message in here if you're interested. Thank you.
