Hi, I am planning to sell my 911E and am thinking of selling it through Collecting Cars. I had it advertised on Carsales but got some people 'interested in the car' but just coming for test drives, so pulled the car off Carsales. It's an original right hand drive, matching numbers 1969 911E. Original Sportomatic. Original inside and outside colour. It originally was a South African delivered car, which I imported some years ago. Very good condition. Any feedback on value is very much appreciated. Also, are there better ways to sell?
I think I've been asleep! Has the market for old Porsches met and now exceeded even the madness of the heady days of late 2016? There has been a few sales posted lately that have frankly shocked me. The 996 market seems very active with 996GT3's for example nowhere to be seen sub 200k. I'll be buying you all beers if this one goes for close to the asking but possibly $180k isn't far from the mark at all now: 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Manual-SSE-AD-6982124 - carsales.com.au I guess in a time of unprecedented low interest rates and no holiday spending it had to show sometime! Or is it the case of too few sales and too many outlier sales to draw any real conclusions?
Hi Guys, I posted a while back about my 911, too give you a brief background, Its a 1977 911 which was later updated with a 993 Turbo S body and much quicker engine (3.2L, not sure what model it was from), and I imported it from America.. I have no intention of selling it however at the moment it is LHD and due to some rust underneath the car it is going to need to have the 'frontcut of the chassis' replaced (from the nose back to the front of the windscreen, and considering I'm going to that extent, is it worth buying a RHD dash from a 993 and converting it to RHD while Im in the process, or should I just leave it LHD as a conversion could affect the balance and other performance/handling of the car??? Any educated opinions would be much appreciated. Cheers.
Hi Everyone, I need help putting an approximate price on my 911 to basically just see what it's worth as it stands. I imported it from California, and it is currently still left hand drive. It is registered as a 1977 Porsche 911, however this is only the chassis and VIN, the body has been completely (and properly) replaced with an authentic 993 Turbo Aero body, the engine is now a 'tuned up' 3.2 litre from a newer model Porsche with a sports exhaust (which I believe has had about 40000 kms on it since the changes), and it currently sits on a brand new set of chrome Gemballa turbo wheels. The chassis is currently in process of being made rust free. The interior (white/light creme) is in decent condition with all the seats intact, only a single crack in the dashboard and a momo race wheel. With regard to the paintwork it is a deep blue colour with multiple scratches and stone chips and in my personal opinion it is in definite need of a repaint. Thats the basic specs for the car, there are a couple of cars like this on the internet ranging between 40 and 60 grand but I'm not sure I'd get that (but you never know), if you would like to know anything else in order to value it more precisely just let me know. Cheers
