  1. Hi GentsI have this new AP Racing organic solid centre clutch disc purchased from WEVO surplus to needs if someone needs or wants a spare. I purchased a WEVO clutch flywheel deal with a 901 clutch but have managed to source the same clutch but for a 915 gearbox which suits my current application.I have it on good authority from WEVO that they are no longer offering them due to issues with supply and dealing with AP.$460 AUD
  2. Hey, I was discussing this topic with another member the other day and the question came up over whats the best gearbox. There's a spattering of discussion on PFA about air cooled gearboxes, particularly on the technical aspects, but I thought it would be great to understand which one everyone prefers and why? Are you a G50, 915, or WEVO kinda shifter? How come? Cheers, Al
  3. Hi Guys, For sale: Wevo Motor mount for 987.1 2007 Cayman S $250 ono. Motor mount (orange one in the pic) Was installed for 2 weeks or about 250kms and pulled it out because it was loud for me . I later realised that the loudness was the engine running rough due to metallic tapping coming from exhaust leak, MAF etc Here's a reference and they can be installed on 986/7.1's according to Wevo's site. http://www.autoatlanta.com/Porsche-987-Wevo-Mount-srch.html $300 ono for the pair of WEVO SS Transmission mounts (the black ones in the pic) ====================================================== I tried 3 set ups 1. All 3 Wevo mounts - great for a track car as you really feel that the engine is braced and power immediate to the wheels. NVH is substantial. 2. a pair of transmission mounts with OEM motor mount and this has been reasonable with a rumble in the cabin right behind your ears. Purchased and installed wevo's through Autohaus Hamilton. ================================================== Parts are still for sale in Sydney and will sell separately. Would prefer cash pick up but ok to post @ cost to buyer & EFT. I'm in the inner city area or St Leonards. Selling cause it wasn't the right solution for my use. Also OEM transmission mount in decent condition (from 2007 cayman) - offer Euge
  4. I did a bit of poking around the back of my 911 today trying to find the source of a clunky rattle. I was looking for a loose oil line but It wasn't what I expected. The vacuum pot on the side of the CIS was touching the shock absorber top mount. My first thought was the intake box was too far over on the runners but it all looked ok. So maybe the whole engine had shifted on it's mounts but the mounting bolts were all properly tight and in place. Closer inspection revealed the transmission mount rubbers had deformed enough to allow the nose of the gearbox to drop causing the touch on the vac. pot. I need new mounts. Has anyone here used the WEVO trans. and engine mounts? Are the harder blue inserts too harsh for street use or am I better off with the softer black inserts?
  5. So I have been looking into options regarding short shifter/linkage options and was curious as to what others have experienced? 'Short shifter' kit or are the Wevo shifters worth the extra $$$$? Anyone install themselves? Love to hear your thoughts...........
  6. Well it seems old mate who was buying my 915 has "found another one" out so I now have one to sell.. Gearbox. Perfect working order and under 1,000klms since last oil change. Works exactly as it should. Clearly like all 915's you need to be going very slowly to get it into first but if you have a 915 you would already know that. Clutch and light weight flywheel. Sachs clutch with under under 10,000klms. The invoice I have for it says its a 4 puck brass button clutch but when I was cleaning the engine down it looks more like an organic plate to me. I'll put it out on Sunday have a closer look. Freshly rebuilt coupling less than 2,000klms since done. Wevo "Tall" shifter and base. As new with medium springs installed. Black anodised and one of the best things you can do to make a 915 shift well. It is sprung loaded so it sits in the 3rd-4th plane and stops you nicking reverse when shifting into 5th. Also has reverse lockout. I'll get photo's of the whole set up on Sunday and post them. I am unwilling to separate the package until the gearbox is sold. If that person only wants the box I will then sell each item separately. Reason for sale is I need a short case 930 4spd box. I have one ready to go but need to move the 5 speed first. $4500.
