AB_981 Posted 27November, 2016 Report Share Posted 27November, 2016 Really looking forward to this day, almost as much for spending time with the other people and cars as I am for the track time.For those that have not been to Sandown it is a pretty good starter course as there are plenty of opportunities to let other cars past and not "feel" pressured. Just a glance in the mirror once you exit a corner onto any of the four straights and you have plenty of time to let faster cars past. I am secretly hoping there is a cone chicane at the top of the back straight, if not I will be lifting off well before chaos corner.On a side note, track work is hard on your paint - I made that mistake once, will be getting some protection film applied to the front of the car before the day. As you know, we have Trade Suppliers on the PFA - companies who have supported our forum for over 4 years now. These guys are invited to come to the track day and promote their businesses - free of charge - as a benefit of their membership. Businesses like Darren's are welcome to participate, however as he has not been a Trade Supplier, he needs to have a chat with us, as there will be a fee. There are plenty of opportunities available which we will be announcing soon for sponsorships and activities on the day. Shoot Darren's email through if he would be interested in being on the database. JB Posted 30November, 2016 Report Share Posted 30November, 2016 Have raced and track work, but years ago....Experience I've had is as long as expectations are clear and everyone is self aware and courteous then everyone enjoys the day. In saying that I will be going in the limited/no track experience as it's the smart and safer option. Gonna inspect those tyre treads and put my new driving shoes on to do the tyre kicking..Sounds like you should have hired the place for the weekend Hugh...Great organising.. one thing I wanted to share for the newbies is , that the last supercar day I went to in Wakefield.. I took my MK1 Escort… Yes thats the super car.... the place was rammed with Lambos, GT3S , AMG things and more… not once did I worry about faster cars .. they watched out for me and they , had the brakes and the acceleration and mostly skills to navigate around me. Never felt hassled once ..Remember .. unlike the road , no one pulls out on you… unlike the road everyones going in the same direction, unlike the road , if you had the imaginary white line down the middle , most of the time you get 2-3 lanes width to drive in..sometimes more .. Unlike the road theres run off.Sounds its gonna be a fantastic day , Im sutre will be full of careful owners and spectacle to be part of .PS Trev last suggestion.. have you thought if a wig ?? I believe emails will be sent out prompting for the remaining balance payments to be made. Sit tight, these should be out in mid/late Jan.2. Pit garages can be rented on the day for $50. This is done through Sandown and can be done on the day, a few guys are running cup cars etc. so we will be making sure we have access.3. Thanks Hugh Kerry and I are meeting tonight to finalise phase 2 of payment, as well as info night details and on-site venue details/garages. All of this and more will be confirmed and we'll be rolling out info asap over the next few days. The info night will be between a week and two weeks before the track day. Not late Feb as in 1st post - obviously a mistake fixed to Late Jan.We've had a couple people pull out so there will be space for a few more people if they're interested, and more on this will be made available in the next day or two. Stay tuned!Would like to be IN .. plus two drivers .. store says out of stock??More spaces are coming. We should be able to accommodate everyone re: space. Please note all drivers must be Financial Members, and 1 entry per person/account, so each driver needs a FM account to attend.
