Skidmarks Posted 7March, 2017 Report Share Posted 7March, 2017 911 R with a GT3 badge. The R is rare but I'd bet my left 'nad on the fact that in real terms there'd be nothing in it in terms of the driving experience. Especially if you optioned the manual. I know which I'd stump up for ...That Preuninger gave a long answer to a short question of impact on R residuals means they thought carefully as it will have been an issue. Pretty soon the idiocy that is the premiums being asked for the 991 GT3RS will also subside and the prices will settle back in the mid 4's where they belong. sleazius Posted 7March, 2017 Report Share Posted 7March, 2017 Well the signs are good. My only concern with the manual is how high the shift is relative to the wheel.Never been a red car guy but that thing looks the business.

edgy Posted 3April, 2017 Report Share Posted 3April, 2017 This is where I'm at:http://www.porsche-code.com/PJCP1TL9Good spec, I'd only add harnesses.
sleazius Posted 3April, 2017 Report Share Posted 3April, 2017 Good spec, I'd only add harnesses. You get the driver harness as part of clubsport (I think). You only need to add passenger, but for the price if I really want a passenger harness I'd go after market. I'll use the car on the track, but only for 0.01% of its life, hence the more creature comfort focused interior (leather and folding buckets). I'm also opting for manual but you can't do that in the builder yet. I'm not locked on the colour yet either. Racing yellow is a lot more day-glo than speed yellow and I'm not sure if I'm sold. I think Miami could work with the all the black highlights but another $8k for a colour you're not 100% on seems like silly buggers to me.$22k for PCCB grumble grumble boo hiss.....I'm still not sure if I'll get an allocation so this could all still be pie in the sky stuff

In that case I wouldn't bother, there are very limited circumstances where you'd be on the track with a passenger, and if they are so lucky... there is enough for them to hold onto! At $22k for the PCCB, I really would not bother personally, I say this purely from a cost perspective, they are expensive to buy as the option and expensive to replace should you need to do so! They are prone to chipping easy, which if you have an off at the track and get into some gravel, that can be all it takes, cracks can start from the chip, and you must either recondition (not cheap) if you catch it soon enough or replace, if they crack. Colour is very personal, I say go with what YOU like, fuck the resale factor... This is what I'd build right now if I was so lucky! Boring colour yes... but I do not see the PTS option yet! http://www.porsche-code.com/PJX5SWZ2 I like the light comfort and BOSE audio... nothing like flogging the car all day at the track with the windows down, then leaving the track with the windows up and music blaring whilst the A/C blows cool air on your sweaty ass!! PCCB would be for the street, no way I'd track with those on.Resale is the last thing on my mind. If I get an allocation i'll likely keep it for 10+yrs like I do with most fun cars, I'm just a big fan of Riviera and Mexico and Miami is close but with green undertones which I'm unsure about. Saw a Boxster in it and didn't like it, but then saw a 911 and thought it was ok.I like GT Silver, just enough colour to be understated but not white. There are about 5 more comfort related options I'd take in an ideal world, but then you end up with a $400k GT3 and that is McLaren territory. I'd love the LEDs for example but like everything it's another $5k.In an ideal world where $400k is chump change:http://www.porsche-code.com/PJMU3LD1
edgy Posted 3April, 2017 Report Share Posted 3April, 2017 The LED headlamps are real nice, my dad got some on his Macan GTS, mainly because it came with black PDLS, so wasn't a huge jump up, on the GT3 however, it's a fair bit of coin to add as you say. I like the riviera and Mexico blue also, not sure on the Miami blue though? Might need to see it on a car in the flesh!
