911 Snake Posted 30March, 2017 Report Share Posted 30March, 2017 Hi All,Looking to change out front and rear seat belts to red and can't seem to find a local OZ supplier online. I'm after the complete set and not interested in buying seat belt material off ebay/cutting myself or anything like that. I tried a search on the forum and the closest I could find was was design911 in the UK and I'd be looking at over 1k just for the fronts!Any local options anyone has used before? Any recommendations? Apologies if this has been covered but I couldn't seem to find in searchcheers
Raven Posted 30March, 2017 Report Share Posted 30March, 2017 I don,t know of any local options ,,,,Suncoast does them and I think they will be just as costly with shipping and exchange ........... http://www.suncoastparts.com/product/CarreraBelts.html

dan_189 Posted 31March, 2017 Report Share Posted 31March, 2017 Have for confirmed they can ship to Australia because they technically have explosives in them. I had quite a hard time a few years ago trying to buy a steering wheel because of the same issue.

Yeah it looks like you're right.2005+ the fronts have a pre-tensioner which has a charge that is hooked up to the airbag. Because of this, they wont ship to AUS,Local option is about $1200 bucks too, so not much different to re-webbing the thread to red or, buy complete new sets from Porsche - even more $$$$ugh..didnt think it would be this costly and complex
dan_189 Posted 3April, 2017 Report Share Posted 3April, 2017 You might get some private sellers trying to get them through airmail but usually that doesn't fly (no pun intended!).My drivers side belt in my 04' 996 started playing up so I looked into it awhile ago. I ended up just opting for a pair of good used 997 belts in black. From memory 2002+ have the pre tensioner, also 996 and 997 coupe belts are backwards and forwards compatible. What is the local option as in sourcing red belts locally?
