Peter M Posted 7April, 2017 Report Share Posted 7April, 2017 Replace the receiver dryer, I've previously posted a low cost generic part number in a 993 evaporator change post and recharge with R134a. This is the gas they are designed for.EDIT:Receiver/Dryer details from other thread:Only other useful thing I've learnt is that the standard receiver dryer for 993/964's and I guess from the part number, 944's as well (Part No. 944-573-143-01) is the same used in Toyota Camry's 1993 to 2002 and many other cars.I've found Autofrost at Milperra (02 9774 4133) good to deal with the two I've bought to date and their part number for a generic one is RD 7001. Cost $17.50!

micknine01 Posted 7April, 2017 Report Share Posted 7April, 2017 R134A as peter said. I have had the joy of replacing the evaporator, drier etc in a 993 (same job on 964) if you need any help. It started out with a 'wishful thinking' gas recharge

Peter M Posted 8April, 2017 Report Share Posted 8April, 2017 A search for Theo's 993 Evaporator replacement thread might be interesting to you. If the evaporator hasn't been replaced yet it's probably the number 1 suspect in the leaks department.
