53 year old Hoon... I mean cmon, grow up

Anyone know it? Looked like a bitsa... think I recall it going through the auctions???

UNTIL 1989 it was the fastest street legal car in Victoria.

Now almost 30 years later its pure grunt was too much for a middle aged hoon who tried to show off, but came off second best.

Stanko Vukoja, 53, wrote off his rare 1976 Porsche, one of 1200 in the world, dragging a common Commodore around the city’s Crown Casino.

He had used an inheritance left to him by his father to buy the car, worth more than $100,000.

The hoon had hoped to watch the luxury car’s value skyrocket and then use his gains to buy a house.

But his well thought out plans were dashed in a moment of madness when he decided to race another car around Queensbridge St in October.

Mr Vukoja lost control, mounted a median strip, ploughed into a traffic pole, and wrote off the precious Porsche.

It was too fast, and now he’s furious.

But it was the risk to innocent pedestrians that concerned Magistrate Raj Malhotra.

“This was an exceptionally crowded area. There are thousands of people walking around that area at any point of time,” he said.

“Had he have hit one that would have been bad enough. Hoon driving ... is simply not acceptable to the community.”

Mr Vukoja pleaded guilty to dangerous driving in a deal that saw a charge of illegal street racing dropped.

The unemployed toolmaker was fined $5000 and has flagged the heavy penalty will take him years to pay off.

But Mr Malhotra said it was a fair price pay for Mr Vukoja’s stupidity.

Mr Vukoja also lost his license for the mandatory six month period.

Freaky.  We had a toolmaker working for us some years ago who's name was, wait for it, Raj Malhotra.

I don't recall any hooning in Tasmania...

none whatsoever.

So how did a 3.0 Carrera slip through Manheims for $50k??? :o

I reckon I saw it on Carsales or Scumtree for a lot more than $50k. I'd say that is what it sold for at Manheims AFTER he crashed it?
