The first of my little questions

Anyone know how to remove the black paint from the window trim?

Thanks

Second Question

Removing the window tint

Seems to be two options

1. Scraper and razor blade

2. Add heaps of steam and pick at the film.

Anyone have any success with either option or an alternative?

Once again, Thanks

I am not sure if they came out originally with black trim (I think it was polished). If it is original anodising, the way to get it off is with oven cleaner. The low odour stuff is useless, you need the heavy duty, nasty, caustic stuff. Spray it on, leave it half an hour or so and wash it off. You may need to do it a couple of times.

Thanks Jeff

Im fairly sure the original trims were polished

Mine look as though they were badly sprayed at some stage in its life

I now recall the oven cleaner episode :) Early on in your build

If they were sprayed, hopefully it was badly and you can just try thinners to get it off. It hopefully shouldn't bother the anodising underneath.

C3's came with either polished anodised or black anodised. Polished more common on earlier cars (76).

if your black ones are painted over polished then they may have been scuffed up to key the paint & could be a b4stard to polish out if you are after the shiny look.

Do your rear quarter windows open? My SC doesn't have that cool feature. From some of the pics I'm seeing with a google search they open on the C3's and there are no corner trim pieces.. Perhaps the corner trim can't be used with the opening type due to interference/clearance at the hinge end.

Hey mate what did you use to take off the black in the end? Oven cleaner? How did you protect the paint when washing off? I need to do a similar thing so any tips are appreciated!

Just picked up the rear seat pads from the trimmer. Peter Blackman ?

Anyone know what adhesive is best to hold them in place?

Use self adhesive Velcro upholstery tape - you can pull them out for cleaning if needed
