Ha, oh I have a Merc too.. I'm sure you know.

I found an old school red suitcase that was getting thrown out by one of the neighbours the other week. I grabbed it and did a mock up old the old wagon. Now I just need to order the mega expensive original 145 roof rack to go with it.

As long as they get rid of what has to be the most complex engine breather system kniown to mankind!! Boy it had me running around in circles.....

Considering one for S60 replacement when due, maybe not a new one though.....

They are engineered to allow crankcase breathing without losing oil to the intake stream, under sustained heavy throttle/WOT/boost. I copied and pasted that.. I sounded smart there. :-)

I think when you give it the beans it won't smoke like a turbo Porsche :-P

You almost pulled it off...... ;)

Ours used to smoke like a chimney burning green timber.... I totally revamped the breather system, all in vain as the turbo was shot!!

ha.. bugger. replace the turbo in the end?

I also half expect (because I'm cynical) that Volvo designed the complex PCV system not only to prevent smoking under load but to make people take them to the dealer cause it's too complex. I see it as a challenge!

Because I'm a car nerd.. Thread on my XC90 adventures if you're interested..

Yep had the turbo rebuilt, runs so much better now, more power, no smoke or oil usage and more economical - wins all round, except for the $$ to fix it....

I did mine with the extra challenge of leaving the in take in place....! It just has too many hoses and galleries going all directions.....
