Decel Valve

Hello All

I have been attempting to track down a decel valve for my SC.

Not available from larger parts vendors here or in the States and lead time ex Germany is 3-5 weeks.

Any clues re lesser known sources?

I would be interested in a known good used valve if any member is inclined to sell.

Thanks

Greg

Thanks Tazzieman for checking this out for me.

the larger parts suppliers in the US (Pelican and so on) have part listed on their website with 'in stock' noted. I have placed a couple of orders and been advised (after two or three days) that there is no local stock and part needs to come ex-Germany with attendant delay.

I have placed an order with Pelican but was hoping to source a used one in the interim to avoid the car being out of action for so long.

I will give Auto Atlanta a crack, perhaps they have stock and can dispatch quickly.

Greg,

Couldn't you run without it by just plugging the ends of the hoses?  It just bypasses the butterfly and idle air circuit in the circumstance of very high engine vacuum doesn't it?

I guess it may pop and crackle a little on overrun but I'm sure you can live with that!

Just a half formed though as I've never had a K Jetronic with one.

Hi Peter

I appreciate the advice. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I am not sufficiently across the system fundamentals to understand the implications of plugging the hoses.

The car is recently returned from a full engine (not the FI system) and transmission rebuild and a suspension refresh and is, apart from decel valve issues, an absolute joy to drive. I am reluctant to mess with its systems in case I inadvertently do something silly.

Thanks again for the advice.

Regards

Greg
