What the hell do you replace it with🤢 There is very little in a sports car that appeals to be sub $300k now that the market has shifted up. Three year old GT3s are dearer now than two years ago, so effectively I've gotten poorer

I find it strange what is thought as high km in the GT3 world

If I was in the market I’d be offering 270 and let them tell me to go away........or give me a different number. as for kms I agree, I don’t care it it’s 6000 or 16000km, I’d plan on putting plenty more in anyway. 550Spyder Posted 15November, 2020 Report Share Posted 15November, 2020 Team i see a few references on the post to “high km” in 991 GT3s. familiar with “normal” P car stuff, had just assumed that the Megzler GT3 engines would be bullet proof and just get in and drive stuff. Yes a rebuild will be more than a bog stock 911 but is there any reason (other than depreciation / resale) to suggest why you would not just buy a 991 GT3 and put 200,000km on it having the time of your life (assuming you follow the factory service schedule). 1q2w3e4r Posted 15November, 2020 Report Share Posted 15November, 2020 991's don't come with the Mezger's - the 991.1s are a road based/developed engine, the 991.2's have the Cup car engine. I agree that your logic makes sense i.e. buy and drive it. DJM and SS 3
550Spyder Posted 15November, 2020 Report Share Posted 15November, 2020 Have a friend looking at a 991.2 GT3. Is that cup car engine any more fragile / maintenance hungry than prior engines ?

NBTBRV8 Posted 18November, 2020 Report Share Posted 18November, 2020 Auction car down another $9k to break the $300k barrier. It seems sales are slowing without the car is highly speced, thus shifting the such cars $20-40k lower. https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/2017-porsche-911-gt3-991-auto-my18/OAG-AD-19133324 DS911
