Shame I missed out on the 991.1 in Melbourne which had the replaced warranty engine in there already. Didn’t have my ducks in a row in time. The white one in Melboune is still for sale he removed it from CS as he has been shocked by the questions around the engine along with the inevitable market valuations. SS 3 Posted 20January, 2021 Report Share Posted 20January, 2021 Seems the 991.1RS can suffer from similar issues to the GT3 Just spoke with a connection whom informed me that a 991.1RS just went pop at Sandown on the weekend - warranty approved very quickly which is good to know. Same engine design, just a slightly lower redline basically.
NBTBRV8 Posted 23January, 2021 Report Share Posted 23January, 2021 I really fail to see how mk1 sellers ask so much. I wouldn't believe the market is meeting the asking prices. https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/2016-porsche-911-gt3-rs-991-auto-my16/SSE-AD-7011758 DJM and HWY 1

Stephen Tinker Posted 27January, 2021 Report Share Posted 27January, 2021 Does that model (May 2015 release date) still have the questionable engine??
NBTBRV8 Posted 27January, 2021 Report Share Posted 27January, 2021 Yes. The very last cars got a G series motor, but I have heard that the best motors are the replacement G series which start with G6XXX

It will be the uninformed that will look at purchasing these cars at anywhere near these prices. I think Chris's offer on the low km .1 club sports at $220K is the highest I have heard in awhile. cafe_racer
cafe_racer Posted 27January, 2021 Report Share Posted 27January, 2021 Good on them for maki long bay whilst the sun shines. 992 GT3 on the way and GT4 RS might put some downward pressure on them. But the used car market is hot, so who knows!

Do you sit the 997.2 in the 997 range above too, or is that it’s own beast? (Not a lot to go on apart from the wild $320k ask that’s been sitting on Carsales).
