MFX Posted 9February, 2018 Author Report Share Posted 9February, 2018 This week's adventure was finishing up the booth lighting. I then moved on to rust treating the whole car and painting the epoxy primer. GUT
MFX Posted 16February, 2018 Author Report Share Posted 16February, 2018 This week I planned on painting the epoxy on the inside of all the panels, but I ended up getting side tracked by more panel beating and trying to fit a really dodgy wing. MFX Posted 23February, 2018 Author Report Share Posted 23February, 2018 This week I get to see how my wing came out, and it was not as great as I hoped.

I got my ZG flares from Otomoto, and they were good. I should have got the wing from them too.

I am going to aim for Tuesday evening videos on the VW and Friday evening videos on the Z to sort of space them out. That is unless I am working that day, in which case it will be posted up the following morning when I get home. As for the name, I think the series will be the 'Home Built Project Beetle'. MFX Posted 30March, 2018 Author Report Share Posted 30March, 2018 I finally threw in the towel and I bought a new repro bonnet for my Z. It took a lot of time, but I finally have it all fitting up the way I wanted.
MFX Posted 6April, 2018 Author Report Share Posted 6April, 2018 This week I get stuck in to do the final alignment of all the panels and start the body filler. It is a slow process, but if I want it done right I need to take my time and keep plugging away at it.
MFX Posted 13April, 2018 Author Report Share Posted 13April, 2018 This week I learned a lot more about engine rebuilding and I lapped the valves. I then needed to work out my engines compression which meant CC'ing the combustion chambers.
MFX Posted 20April, 2018 Author Report Share Posted 20April, 2018 This week I have got myself some extra valves to replace the dodgy ones I had previously, so I get them lapped to fit and then move on to more body work.

MFX Posted 30April, 2018 Author Report Share Posted 30April, 2018 I was actually in NZ for the last couple of weeks, and I tried to film a bunch of episodes ahead of time to cover it, and I just ran out of puff to get that one. New Beetle vid will be out tomorrow though Lucky Phil

MFX Posted 18May, 2018 Author Report Share Posted 18May, 2018 I wasn't happy with the results of my compression calculations previously, so I have had the head shaved again and it is time to recalculate.
