Dreamr Posted 26October, 2017 Report Posted 26October, 2017 Hi Folks,I'm after some information if possible about transport options from Adelaide Airport.I recently bought a truck in Pooroka and I will be flying down on Monday or Tuesday to pick it up. I need to know if there are any buses to there from the airport ....I know it is about 30 minutes away and I could always catch a taxi but I'm not in the biggest rush and don't mind taking the bus.If anyone can help with information, it would be much appreciated.Cheers in advance .... Ronny ....
LeeM Posted 26October, 2017 Report Posted 26October, 2017 That'd be a pain in the arse mate, as you'd need to bus it from the airport to the city (not sure what public transport is available), then a bus or 2 to Pooraka. Taxi would be a much easier option in my opinion, and $40-$50 or so I reckon. I'll get next week's runsheet tomorrow, so if I'm not flat out with a full day Monday or Tuesday, I can pick you up and take you there instead Will let you know asap
Dreamr Posted 26October, 2017 Author Report Posted 26October, 2017 Thanks so much for that offer Lee ... I wasn't expecting a lift, just information ...I will be arriving around 8 - 8.30 odd so next time you might want to ask that question first! .... If you feel like breakfast (on me) with some great company ... that would be great. Otherwise I'm sure a taxi will be hanging around that time of the morning ...I really appreciate the offer ....
LeeM Posted 26October, 2017 Report Posted 26October, 2017 Aaah yeah, that time may cause a bit of a problem mate! ? I'd definitely use a taxi over public transport heading out that way, and there will be plenty available.
Dreamr Posted 27October, 2017 Author Report Posted 27October, 2017 Thanks again Lee .... I really didn't expect to be chauffeur driven.Looks like taxi is the go. I appreciate the information .....
LeeM Posted 27October, 2017 Report Posted 27October, 2017 That's cool mate. Had a look at my work earlier and I'm flat out all week, so I wouldn't have been able to pick you up. If anything changes (does happen) I'll let you know
chalon Posted 27October, 2017 Report Posted 27October, 2017 Hi Ronny, There is actually a bus from the airport that takes you into the city - J1, J1X and others. It's standard Adelaide Metro ticketing, which is valid for 2 hours so you can use the same ticket on your next bus out to Pooraka. It's doable and will cost only $5.40, but depends where in Pooraka. https://www.adelaidemetro.com.au/planner/Cheers

LeeM Posted 27October, 2017 Report Posted 27October, 2017 You can tell by now I don't use public transport Ronny....ever! ?
Dreamr Posted 27October, 2017 Author Report Posted 27October, 2017 You can tell by now I don't use public transport Ronny....ever! ?You and me both!! ....
Stew F Posted 28October, 2017 Report Posted 28October, 2017 Our public transport is garbage. And there's massive delays in the city currently, with the tram extensions going on. The city is a right bottleneck at the moment. The bus leaves from the airport and goes to the city. You have to get off in Currie Street and walk to another stop just up the road, and catch the 502, I think it is. It's about a 1 1/2 hour trip on the bus. A taxi will cost you around $55, plus a 5% credit card surcharge, and take about 45 minutes at that time of the morning.
