No, I meant the lack of connectivity with the existing/stock 997.1 (without Mobridge or other after market upgrade), hence the need to bring the car to the current era.

So you have your stock 996-7 head unit, buy this device, plug it in and it enables your stock head unit to have Bluetooth phone connectivity. Yes ?

Yes.

It seems I confused myself and you - apologies. 

I haven’t got it installed yet but as I understand, it lets you call and stream music from your iPhone - and uses the standard head unit.
