I think you bought the straight car at probably the bent car price .. lucky man ;) You got the unicorn deal my friend..   the rest that have popped up anywhere near what your car got advertised at .. seem to have funky history.  When your car popped up , I thought the market was screwed.. im glad its the only well priced one that was offered around.

Garage queen .. you need to drive it more.. I think Edgy is most driven , my 10,000 kms must be worthy of mention… your up next mate

PS will investigate damn sticky buttons dude and get back to ya

Sticky button is an easy fix if your in Brisbane I can get them done in 5 minutes did the ones in my 996 perfect fix.

Hi guys new(old) member here. . Does anyone have any history /comments on this car? What is a fair value today? Thanks

Looks like a good example, lowish km's non CS, I reckon the pricing is a little ambitious, if its what it says it is and good PPI, 200 +/- 5k is probably a reasonable deal for the buyer.

I just don't get it. He clearly wants to move the car but if its not selling at $188k, what would increasing the price do?

Its actually quite sad for this guy; As he is local to me i caught up  for a chat about 12-18 months ago. This was his 1st Porsche he went through a bad period in his life and basically lashed out and purchased this car, (which is a good car without being a plumb one). My thoughts after our conversation are that he has since come to the realisation that he should be using the money from the car to move on in his life. I am sensing that he is getting very frustrated at not being able to move it. By memory I think he paid $2-215 for the car so taking a loss is going to be hard i guess. What would people do if they were him?

I totally understand not being in the mental space to deal with people, especially selling a car in 2018... the whole passive aggressive texting situation drives me so mad. SO Honestly, I'd have a dealer sell it for me, if I was in his shoes, you just gotta take a hit sometimes and move on.

Actually now I think of it, I am kind of in his shoes right now... I am not in the mental space to be dealing with "car buyers" (well, stupid, unreasonable people really), but I was still trying to sell one... albeit in my case I was just trying to dispose of one of our company cars through the private market, I ended up pulling the ad because I can't stand the texting and low ballers/time wasters and I will probably just take it to a wholesaler, they can stroke me a cheque and I dont have to deal it... they can make some money and deal with the idiots & dreamers. lol, sometimes it is a curse having the cheapest example on the market.... and this is just a corolla that i have zero emotional interest in or any need for a return on $$, its run its depreciation schedule already.

So if its a good car and not misrepresented, I do feel for that guy, if what your saying is true, people just dont care about each other anymore and it makes me sad.

Sorry for the rant.

I would just stick to a price and move it on . Sometimes mistakes can be costly

This car was on the market when I was looking for one and I always moved past even looking at it because of the fluctuating pricing .

There was a time when most people bought most cars knowing full well that it depreciates. At least you've clarified that its a decent car. In my mind, not having inquired, that the car was bad, solely due to the execution of the marketing strategy.

He should just take the hit and sell the car to a dealer but easy for me to say not knowing what his exact issues are.

Its so much easier to sell a car to a dealer, this does depend on what car though. I sold my R33 GTR recently to a dealer as 1.) I didn't want people showing up to my place and seeing what other cars i had and 2.) I didn't want to deal with calls at my work place.

..but are you taking more of a hit selling to the dealer than the low ballers? I was stuck selling my father in-laws 2011 C200 Merc, with 200,000k's recently. That was a pain in the butt due to k's. It was priced $5k lower than any similar car on the market, but I was still dealing with offers 2/3rds of asking. I love buying cars, but hate selling. Unfortunately it is a necessary evil ;)

When I was trying to purchase a gt3 last year I enquired on this one.

It was very strange as it was with a dealer but being sold privately. When I enquired about getting it inspected I was told I could only use “their specialist” for the inspection. Everything about the process, car and seller put me off.

Splashing circa $200k on a car and not being able to have it inspected by an unbiased party turned me away.

Not saying it’s a bad vehicle as I never saw it, but unfortunately this bloke has not run the best advertising campaign. And I offered more than the $188k he had it up for.

Anyway, glad I didn’t buy as I found another in the colour I really wanted and close to immaculate.
