No comparison stylewise in my opinion. You either want a 930 or a 993

Have to agree @symsy ....

Regardless of $$$ or comfort or performance, it's a 930 all the way!

They could be the same price and I'd still want it ....

Aus. Didn’t get 87/88/89 cars

Last Aussie cars were 1985.

Sold my Silver 1985 Aussi last year

about 140,00kms from memory

Books were not perfect

Condition - nice, but not showroom

CTS valued it at $210k

I finally sold it for $200k, less cost of some wheels I threw in, so probably more like $198k ( I was happy as I only paid $105k 2 years before + about $30k fixing stuff)

At  the time an Aussi 85 930 with around 60,000kms and good books sold for around $250k.

to answer the original question I would think:

  •  an aussi delivered 930 in fair condition/history/relative kms is around $180k - $210k
  • low kms, good books, good condition -  $210k - $250k
  • less than 20,000kms minter -  I am sure there are those that would pay over $300k

these would all be very original cars in 'good'' colours.

Modify in anyway or colour of a turd, and it will be worth a whole let less

Thanks Tom - Sort of in line with what i was thinking although would not be surprised to see a slide in theses prices throughout the year. Both housing market and economy at best is flat and i reckon that is having somewhat of an impact on the values of cars at the moment. Cant worry too much about this just gotta get out and drive! The 930 wont be too far away!

More shit to go wrong that you can't fix yourself ;)

Lag puts hairs on your chest doesn't it? Or is it hairs on your back of your neck?

Methinks you're getting a bit soft up there in Maryjane land Symsy! The heat can do that to a chap.

Yes my man ..... the lag comparison  and life in a 930 is woeful , I can take a walk at the beach whilst waiting for a 930 to come on boost.

PS Byron is now the home of medicinal gear now mate...  Another round of barefoot multi squillionaire types walking around , I suppose they wont buy 930's or 993's but will keep the Kombi market afloat , maybe they will open a green machine shop here.. no doubt.

Any way we better let these fools get back to discussing 80s porn stars and not so fast cars.

It's come a long way since Big Bad "don't-need-no-aircon "Bob Birtles passed through in '28 , but I digress.

Since Backyard Barney left , there's less and less of the Weatherboard Nine these days!

Jan 2018 I'm up to date with values

Symsy's right. I used to say my grandmother riding a pushbike into a head wind would beat me off the lights but when that turbo kicked...................................very, very intoxicating.

It's a very involving drive but I reckon that's the point. You have to tame it, it doesn't do everything for you (having said that I've never driven a later model Turbo so I can't really compare, just an assumption).

GALAH66 not sure why the salesman hasn't contacted yet. He may have been involved with the Adelaide 500 (that's where I've been for the last 5 days and just about to go back to collect some motorcycles) but that is no excuse. If I get a chance I will try and get there today but I can't promise anything.

I'm taking two Bex powders and going for a good lie down

@GUT   You wearing the Fitbit or the Gshock to the gym tonight

Lost my Fitbit falling off my mountain bike when I was trying to regain my daredevil youth. Maybe I should have had a g-shock.

Now I have an Apple Watch and try to make sure I close all my rings before bed.

Back on topic. My 930 is also an ‘88 UK 930 just like @9er‘s. It’s an awesome car - love it. But so are the others. If I were contemplating selling and got close to the $185k that @9er got for his I’d be very happy.

I don't understand why people are so worried about potentially sliding prices.

if you had a car collection of $3M, would you consider liquidating it as everyone was talking prices down, in hope of re-acquiring later and pocketing the coin?

what are the chances you'd find those cherries ever again?

if you find the right car in the right colour combo and the right condition.... don't hesitate.

 930 v 993 v etc is irrelevant.

chances are your capabilities are far south of the car's, and like most it's being acquired for nostalgic purposes, both being capable of bringing a smile to your face. It's just that one of those won't need to be moving to still bring that smile to your face.....

Very nice colour Rosewood, not a fan of the beige int but can't be too choosy with excellent examples like that

I doubt that it will sell within the expected range, possible Shannon's tactic to entice a larger market...thats the going rate for most imports on carsales.

Mondays result will be the answer to this thread.
