Rim refurbishment recommendations

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Anyone have a recommendation on a place to refurbish a set of standard rims?

Just looking to refurb (repaint) the original colour on a spare set.

Have to be in Melbourne, preferably on the west side!

Cheers

Neway are a bit less in price but aren't as good as wheel solutions

I've tried them both and this is MHO

Neway Wheel Repairs

My 1st choice

spot on, great advice - Neway is like a workshop from the middle ages...

I've been quoted $200-$250 per wheel but depends on the repair needed... At $400 per wheel, @symsy they must be mashed...?

Lots of dependant factors; condition of wheel, prep needed, complexity of design - big open faces with limited spokes like Cup wheels are pretty simple; 924T wheels are really complex to prep

$200-$500 dependant on condition and complexity of prep

I would recommend per the guys above in Melb, both very good.

@symsy mate we charge approx $150 per wheel for repairs majority of the time wheel stays on. However like anything it’s dependent on what work you want/needs to be done. Gutter rash etc we do, however repainted or more specialist work definately wheel solution or new way. New way do all types of wheels including motorcycle, wheel solutions are more

for premium / specialist cars/ classics/ race

cheers
