Remove trim unbolt whats left and replace. No sealant required as it seals against the rubber. Simonk Posted 2July, 2018 Report Share Posted 2July, 2018 Man that sucks. I had my 996 keyed and I was gutted initially but just knowing that my life is much better than those pricks made me feel better. You can’t let scum bring you down because that’s why they do it. disco Posted 4July, 2018 Report Share Posted 4July, 2018 Normally the handiwork of the great unwashed... never fear, usually these miscreants with an IQ no greater than their shoe size foul up badly. It's just a matter of time before Darwin's theory of evolution catches up to them. Chin up mate. Dave.
npvpositive Posted 22July, 2018 Author Report Share Posted 22July, 2018 All worked out in the end . . . Shannons initially played their usual game of saying they wanted O'Briens to fix the window with Chinese glass. I refused and had Autohaus Hamilton do the repair with correct Sekurit glass shipped over from Germany. I was expecting a fight over the cost (about $1,000 total) but Shannons covered it without blinking. Don't know why Suncorp Group think it's smart to burn customer goodwill by automatically trying to enforce the same O'Briens glass policy that they use at AAMI/GIO/Bingle onto very valuable classic cars that are insured by Shannons . . . do they really think a guy who has insured a 959 or an Enzo is going to accept a Chinese windscreen installed by a "Hyundai specialist" from O'Briens? Seems that their standard approach is to try it on first and see if the customer will just roll over.
