Boxster987 Posted 1July, 2018 Report Share Posted 1July, 2018 Hi, I've just joined the forum and if it's OK I have a question. My car is a 2007/8 Boxster S with manual seats. I've noticed that the drivers seat moves fore/aft noticeably on the rails under braking/acceleration. When not in the car I can rock the drivers seat back and forward a little. The passenger seat does not move at all. I've searched the forum for answers and not found any specific to this question. I've also searched the net and found a similar problem put down to worn thrust washers in the electric seats but no reference to manual seats. I'm hoping that I can get some advice from other members. All help is appreciated. Kind regards, Chris
firstone Posted 1July, 2018 Report Share Posted 1July, 2018 It can only be bolts loose, rail to body or rail to seat, or the rail failing. Can you get at the bolts easily?
Boxster987 Posted 1July, 2018 Author Report Share Posted 1July, 2018 Thanks. I'll take the seat out next weekend and have a look at the underneath to see if anything is loose. The four bolts that hold the rails to the floor are all quite tight. If I have to replace the rails, I'll try to source them locally. Troubleshooter Posted 1July, 2018 Report Share Posted 1July, 2018 Pull the seat out, takes 5 min (although 20 min to un plug the fuchin power plug under the seat) and tip her upside down and take a look..
