Stu Posted 4December, 2018 Report Share Posted 4December, 2018 I wish I had the ability to rebuild my 3.0 engine. Has a couple of broken head studs and now making some noise in take off. Autohaus quoted a figure I can’t even half afford!
Peter M Posted 5December, 2018 Report Share Posted 5December, 2018 Stu, Suggest you get a quote from Simon at Autowerks in Wyong. He is also happy if you supply the parts which gives you the opportunity to buy them in preparation when on special like at Design911 at the moment. Also spreads the costs so your wife will never know what the total cost was!

They have done over 90 sets of 911 cylinders and I haven't yet read a bad thing, but then again, I haven't read a good thing either. My engine now has heads and cam towers on after today. Just need to clean up the chain boxes and they can go back on tomorrow night hopefully.
Coastr Posted 9December, 2018 Report Share Posted 9December, 2018 So this means you can re-use cylinders whether they are Nikasil or Alusil?

Update on Melbourne based head builders...hsd developments in Moorabbin ....sensational work pretty much covered that here: " 5. Next step is changing whatever you want to change, cylinders, pistons, rods, oil pumps, valves, clutch and\or flywheel etc. You will have to recondition your heads first, here are some examples: Melbourne - HSD Developments would charge - 2500 AUD Melbourne - Cascone 1500+ AUD Sydney - and the PR Technology (PRT) 1500+ AUD For twin plug setup (machining only, no dizzy, no spark plugs etc) Melbourne - HSD Developments would charge - 1400 AUD Melbourne - Cascone - 1100 AUD Sydney - and the PR Technology (PRT) - 700 AUD It is not comprehensive but enough to get the rough pricing idea." updated pistons section
