Common issue coolant pipe ends on GT1 based motors are glued in with a resin type glue ,,,,,,and the resin over time brakes down and you start to get a coolant pipe leak or the end just blows out ,,,on a GT3 you can pin the pipes and or re glue not sure on a turbo because you have extra plumbing to negotiate around ...?

Many threads on this issue on the Rennlist and other dedicated Porsche forums ,,,,this is not a common problem in Australia seems to be more common in North America ,,,Had a friend with a 996 gt3 he did a engine removal ,,,purchased new after market pipe ends from sharkwerks and had them welded in ..Some owners pin ,,,some re glue and others weld ..

His car was a dedicated track car and he didnt want the issue happening again as he dumped coolant all over the track and had a spin in the process..

These are generally the main culprits .....link to a quick explanation of the issue and a Pdf that talks in detail about the problem ,as I said many detailed threads on Rennlist about this ..
