Smokey Posted 10January, 2019 Report Share Posted 10January, 2019 Can I buy a replacement bearing (fitted at 1 in diagram) to accept the tapered spigot from the lower control arm? Boxster 987 2007 model.
Masterwerk Posted 11January, 2019 Report Share Posted 11January, 2019 It's not available as a part. If it is missing, you'd have to replace the wheel carrier.
Smokey Posted 11January, 2019 Author Report Share Posted 11January, 2019 Thanks, you confirm my suspicions. I was hoping for an after market part but two suppliers in UK have responded with a negative as well! I reckon a decent turner tradesman could whip one up in an hour! Looks like I replace the whole hub --- or find a handy tradie! Suggestions for a used replacement?
Stew F Posted 28January, 2019 Report Share Posted 28January, 2019 Which part is it? Item number?
Smokey Posted 28January, 2019 Author Report Share Posted 28January, 2019 Thanks Stew, but I resolved the problem. The bearing I asked about is not available as a replacement part. I even tried in UK and came away with the same reply! Replace the entire hub/wheel carrier. I found one at a reasonable price from Hytechparts, Cardiff, near Newcastle. All fitted now and ready for the road. Just need to find a replacement front wheel - 18" X 8.5" and I'll be on the road again!
