PCM....Thumbs up...

Did a quick squirt up Arthurs Seat over the Xmas holidays, stopped at the car park at the top, and could smell the burning oil smell that most P car owners smell at various times.

This was the first time I had ever smelt mine doing it though.:o

So... took it up again the next day just to see if I was imagining things....and yep...there it was a gain....BUGGA.

I do tend to panic a bit on these things....:Sweating:

Everything ok as far as the level, not blowing any out the exhaust, and no drops on the garage floor, all clean underneath from what I could see..

So another spirited drive a week ago and yep.....still there again.:Confused02:

I rang PCM yesterday, asked if I could have the engine checked for any leaks (an oil filter seal had been replaced at the last service, so thought maybe that was leaking)

Bring it in 10, tomorrow (Being today) Wow...great service I thought.

Got in there at 10 this morning and booked it in with Harris.   They would have had it for about an hour.

Came back with a clean bill of health, everything as it should be no need to worry.

Excellent ..Thanks for that.   What do I owe you..??

All good, your right to go....just drive it an enjoy it....:)

Harris then added, if you ever need anyone to drive it on the weekend he was available.:cool07:

Just goes to show.... PCM sometimes get lambasted a bit for higher pricing, but if you get them to look after your car with servicing etc,

they are also capable of giving a bit back at times.   I certainly didn't expect them to do the check for nothing.:D

(I guess now, with 52K on the clock, I am going to get that "I'm a Porsche flat 6, oil smell"  every now and again from here on in.

And....

I will wear it like a badge of honour)

Nice! I've had that before from smaller Volkswagen specialists - but wouldn't have expected it from PCM.

I've been going in there a bit lately to get random little parts for my engine rebuild and the guys in the parts area are awesome.
They are always willing to help and find the right part. Even if it's a few small bushings that need to be imported from Germany.
Price-wise, by the time you're finished paying for postage and waiting around for your parcel to arrive from Pelican or whoever - they are fairly on par - and much more convenient. Nice that they are close to home too.

I also like that if you just duck into the show room and you say that you're just having a look - they still offer you a drink or a coffee while you're looking.
I cannot fault their customer service.

Definitely recommend.

Your parts also come with a warranty from Porsche centres.

I made a call to them over the new year period and they advised to drop down that day, so I did, I had 2 mechanics out to help and they spent close to an hour, and on the house! They want your business, I have given them some in the past but not too much. I feel they have the right business acumen, and have adjusted to help all in the community.

I do love the coffee and or water, and the showroom! And better yet they get the job sorted.

PCM have always been great to deal with, I get my car serviced there and enjoy dropping in to scope out the showroom.   When replacing the rubbers on my 911SC Targa they even went so far as recommending a body shop that could do a more cost effective job than their own service center.  I have found them to be focused on good customer outcomes as opposed to just drumming up as much servicing business as possible.
