I may be able to get myself a cheap Carrera GT now ..............:Chuckle2:

If the article is true then that is a shame ,,,great collection .

I wonder how many people will be happy that Lloyds will be handling the auction?  I wonder how they will answer any provenance questions.....

Actually they let me crawl over the Carrera GT when we called in, very nice of them I thought...

Never good to see business closures and job losses, but sounds like their business model was never going to be sustainable.

Will be an interesting auction to watch ..... but why Lloyds??.... I’ve not heard a good thing said about how they (mis)conduct their auction process.

Yes it is a pristine low mileage example I saw the car at CTS last year I think they were asking $1.4 M for it at that time ,,,,wonder if they  take Nigerian Bit coin ?????????

True I always thought they were also a licence car dealer of some kind as they seemed to flip a lot of cars through the Museum over the past few years and through CTS  ,,,,there was even a area dedicated to car sales at the museum site , many cars on display also had signs to enquire if interested in purchasing  ..Very strange arrangement that obviously wasn,t 100% legit and some how avoid relevant tax,s that go with numerous sales ...

If I am not mistaken, Museums run under similar rules to charities when it comes to tax, they are NFP, which is at odds with selling cars.... I am surprised they got away with it for so long?!

Correct eg Motor Museum in Launceston that I've just become a director of is registered under ACNC

Maybe they were trying to pull the 'Well its actually not for sale, but you CAN buy it...wink wink' to avoid the taxes

Not sure Lee ,,,the cars in the  dedicated for sale area at the museum all had prices on them and there would have been around 25 to 30 cars in that area on the 3 times I visited ,some in very good condition and others in need of restoration  ,,,they were generally always at the high end of the market price too. We also saw many adverts on Carsales with many of these cars and some display cars up for sale over the past few years ...

They also sold a one of a kind Black on Black phase 3 GT HO for some record amount of money well over $million may be 2 years ago ,,it was a very high profile sale that raised a lot of attention at the time perhaps that was the car that got the ATO looking into their business dealings ..
