Sydney PFA Midweek Social - March 20th 2019 + Pre drinks

Recommended Posts

Hello esteemed members of PFA.

It's been a while since we did any midweek social activities... since I am doing a whole bunch of un-character like, and, well, frankly stupid Porsche things such as; 2.5 tiptronic Boxster, selling my much loved GT3 (well trying to) and so forth, I think it would be a good time to get the Sydney crew together for a catch up, and see if I have really have taken the title in the stupidity stakes or not? I want to say @OBRUT was in the race and did something really stupid by buying a forward dated 71 flachbau cab, but its actually an awesome car and he kept all his good ones...so he survives this round, and I am truly an idiot.

So does anyone care to challenge me for the title of village idiot over some pub grub & libations?

Update (06/03/19) DETAILS:

This is now locked in, the date and venue are set, I have made a reservation for the dining room, I suggest meeting around 7pm onward as the free street parking on Oxford St becomes available at 7:00pm and is usually plentiful at that hour. We will have some time to have a couple of drinks at the bar prior to taking our table in the dining room. We have an interstate guest @Jason A joining us all the way from QLD. This should be good folks, I am looking forward to it! Of course, any late starters are still welcome to join in!! Please express your interest in this thread.

Where: Hotel Centennial - Corner of Oxford St & Victoria Ave, Woollahra NSW 2025

When: Wednesday 20th of March 2019, from 7:00pm

Who (confirmed):

  • edgy
  • Obrut
  • Tips
  • JonoF

Update 2.0, OPTIONAL Pre-drinks :

@itsujack (Jad) has invited everyone over to their new studio for some pre-drinks in Surry Hills, there is a very, very nice specimen of a Porsche classic on display ;) I am happy to arrange a few nice craft beers or some nice wines that can be sampled if its of interest to anyone.

SO

If anyone would like to see the freshest fried eggs beforehand, they'll be resting in our new design studio, so I'd like to invite everyone for a pre-dinner drink for those who can get away a bit earlier, from 6pm (it's a 5min drive to Centennial for 7pm).

Address is:

Silvester Fuller, 12 Little Riley Street, Surry Hills, NSW 2010

I'll just leave this decision to the panel... ;) I reckon you give me a solid run for the $$$ @JonoF

Alright dates? I am relatively free until April rolls in, then it gets hot & heavy on commitments... I'm thinking a Thursday? How does the Thursday 14th or the 28th of March look if people need a bit more notice?

I’m jammed 14 - 17 March with the F1. I’ll be doing “legal compliance checking” in the hospitality suite above pit lane with work.

I’m then in Vietnam for work on w/c 25 March.

But good availability prior and between those dates.

I’m pretty flexible and Thursday’s are good,  interstate travel sometime pops at short notice so will work travel around a date when it’s diecidoed

Week commencing 18th ok? I have a specialist on the morning of Friday 22nd, so preference is not to be out prior to that, so maybe the Wednesday or even Tuesday that week?  I am really free most week nights of march otherwise.

I’m good both tues and wed nights.

so venue. Centennial, fix, paddo, or inner west cockatoo, queen chow....

Paddo Inn is great, food is good... however parking a little crappy if it’s a bit earlier, and being a weeknight we will want to kick off a reasonable hour... I think Centennial just works great because it’s low key, nice space, great food/wine and ample parking.

Unless we wanted to do the Friday evening? At this stage I can, but understand that it’s potentially harder for some others... but give us feedback!! We could kick it off at a cocktail bar again! 😂

Keen - free most nights in March.  I have an iron grip on the idiot throne in our immediate family/friends (they're all so sensible...) so it would be fantastic for me to have a greater idiot to point to.

Sounds like a challenge thrown down... and you have some nice rides Gav, but we want to hear the drama really!  😂

Be good to catch up mate

How does The Centennial on 19 or 20 March sound?

It sounds good to me mate.

Both dates work for me and centennial is fine, even if @edgy has a grip on the wine list 😉

Easy tiger... it's the 2am visit to Golden Century you need to look out for when the Hill of Grace comes out. ;)

If you guys could make it on a Wednesday I would be able to join as I fly in once a month for work. Would be nice to meet some of you guys. Just need a bit f notice so I can arrange my schedule

Would love to catch up not in business hours mate ;) sounds good to me if it works.

So Wednesday the 20th is ok with me and a few others, I checked with obrut too and its ok, so shall we call it Wednesday 20th at the Centennial?

Yes looks like there has been a flurry of sight unseen, roll the dice, post purchase inspection buying occurring over the past few weeks by a few PFA folk. Love it...

keen to hear your Adelaide story as well.
