Niko Posted 4March, 2019 Report Share Posted 4March, 2019 Well the "elitists" and invited guests, had our annual 3 day event, taking us all over Victoria on the best twisty roads and mountains we could find. Great variety of cars, great bunch of blokes, lots of laughs and some sensational roads and testing driving. A few comments made over the radios that unfortunately I can't share with you due to political correctness.... Most of us done around 1200 to 1300 K for the weekend. Weather was HOT...DAMNED HOT..... Harvs and JB in the non aircon cars did a great job considering the oppressive heat and were always up with the pack. Unfortunately the Bush Fires caused us to do a re route on the Sunday, but it didn't make much difference, still had a grouse driving day. DAY ONE - FRIDAY The start for about half of us, BP Wellington Road....Friday Leave the BP and meet the rest of the crew at Launching place. TMan, Steve, Doug and Chris Dave the Vet, closest, Scott and Higgo.... Once the gang was all there, chit chats over it was time to start "4 peaks 2019" Familiar run from most of our Sunday SMT's. First Stop Steve, John and Xavier. AIR COOLED Twins..... JB and Harves Higgos, Coxster, Johns 911and Dave the Vets Cayman Scotts, Harves, and JB's. Chris's GT4, Tmans993, Bafes Carrera, and Steve's GT3 Tyre pressures were jumping up 6lb or more in the heat.. Looks bad, but no cause for concern...all good. BAFE and JB Fastest car of the entire 3 days, being photobombed by Steve.... and before we knew it we were having tea and then de briefing at the Motel over a few cool refreshers. M Most in bed at a reasonable time, however rumour is some needed quite a bit of liquid replenishment and stayed out a bit later.... END DAY ONE......... stay tuned for day two of this epic adventure.....

Niko Posted 5March, 2019 Author Report Share Posted 5March, 2019 4 PEAKS 2019. DAY 3. FINAL DAY Clear of the Motel after the briefing and off to Mt Hotham Obligatory photos...... Then down from Mt Hotham checking out the fires nearby and on the road again, ending with lunch in Mansfield and then we all made our own way home from there. Thanks everyone I'm already looking forward to next year. For those wondering how you get onto this great junket...there are certain conditions that must be adhered to. We have kept the limit of cars to 14...that's it... Any more than that is a management problem and the runs become time consuming. The deal is.... if you have been lucky enough to get on the run, you get first option for the following year(s). If you can't do the following year for whatever reason, you lose your spot and you drop off to the end of the line. If you do come away with us, and decide to go home before the entire run, we have planned is completed, you are also out for the following year. We normally have a number of people that are interested in coming along, and if spots open up, to be fair to everyone, we offer it to those that haven't had the opportunity to come first. You must do the entire three days. Otherwise do not apply Certain excuses may be acceptable...ie medical condition appears. Vacancies for the run will only happen when someone drops out. We will be looking at around the same time next year. Keeping in mind there are others on the forum also doing similar runs..... and you as an individual are also welcome to organise your own run and select your participants. 9fan Posted 13March, 2019 Report Share Posted 13March, 2019 How I miss doing these trips with you guy's ! So I did my trip to do the Hill Climb competition at Bathurst (see report - 2020 Bathurst 12hrs), then did a weeks fishing with a mate and on the way back via the Monaro Hwy had a track day cancelled at East Sale because the RAAF base was being used by the Fire bombing aircraft.
