AdRock Posted 16April, 2019 Report Share Posted 16April, 2019 Hi team, I have to rebuild my 915 transmission and instead of buying a porsche holiding tool, I can use an old clutch disc as a holding tool. Just wondering if anybody has an old junk clutch disc that they would otherwise throw out, that I could have? I'm happy to pay postage. Cheers,
AdRock Posted 1May, 2019 Author Report Share Posted 1May, 2019 bump on this one... since I haven't had any luck with the porsche shops I have tried so far. Thanks!
WB997.2GTS Posted 1May, 2019 Report Share Posted 1May, 2019 Is it anything special? I have a Boxster disk if that’s of any help. Located in Sydney, Warren

Located in Sydney, Warren Thanks mate. Unfortunately though, from what I can tell, the boxster disc doesn't match the 915 shaft. Basically it sits over the shaft and you bolt some flat bar to the clutch disc so that it stops the shaft from turning when you're torquing the bolts to a ridiculously high torque. AdRock Posted 6August, 2019 Author Report Share Posted 6August, 2019 Bump - still looking for an old clutch disc to suit a 915 transmission.. will be needing one soon. Anybody have an old one laying around after they have just replaced their one?
81SC Posted 6August, 2019 Report Share Posted 6August, 2019 AdRock, an early Ford MK1 Cortina or Anglia use a clutch plate that fits the 915 gearbox input shaft splines. You would need the 20 spline X 7/8" Ford clutch plate, just trying to help you widen your search for a clutch plate. Photo shows the Ford clutch plate on my 915. I made this with the Ford clutch plate.
AdRock Posted 6August, 2019 Author Report Share Posted 6August, 2019 Thanks mate - I had a bit of a look around online, but they seem about as hard to locate as the porsche ones
AdRock Posted 21August, 2019 Author Report Share Posted 21August, 2019 Bumpski.... still hunting... getting closer to needing one as I put my transmission back together. Apparently I can also use a reverse to first sleeve from a 914 in the off chance anybody has one of those laying around.
