Driveitlikeyoustoleit Posted 18October, 2019 Report Share Posted 18October, 2019 Ok, obviously I’m a complete amateur. I went to complete the registration form last night and saw the requirements for a tow-hook and non-flammable onesie. Would anyone have any advice on a place in Melbourne to obtain such things without spending a bomb, and without having to order them in? Does Zara do racing leathers perhaps? I think I’ve found a gap in the market for stylish racing clothes for ladies. 🤣

Driveitlikeyoustoleit Posted 18October, 2019 Report Share Posted 18October, 2019 Ph-ew, thank heavens I checked...I might have spent today hunting down full leathers and turning up in a Cat Woman fancy dress outfit. And let’s be honest, that wouldn’t be a great look for a lady of my age 🤣 Cotton it is. My driving partner in crime did try to tell me that I probably didn’t need a racing suit. And thank you for the generous offers of spare helmet and tow hook. I have an older Porsche Cayman. Only ever seen road “racing”, but loving the idea of a winding road without worrying about oncoming traffic. firstone, 9fan and hugh

I was hoping that this event would provide me with a chance to meet some fellow PFA members as a new comer. Unfortunately, I have had a few health scares over the last week, which put me into Hospital to have an angiogram and then a further invasive investigation on my heart. I was only discharged from Hospital yesterday and while the outcome has been good, with no major surgery required it has left my body battered and bruised. Therefore I won't be able to attend the hill climb event this weekend. I wish everyone a great day and hope to catchup at the next SMT. Regards John C So sorry to hear that John, but awesome that all the tests came back positively! All the best mate! Kez Arne Krix
PDean Posted 19October, 2019 Report Share Posted 19October, 2019 Spectators? My other half is working so I've got my boy today. Thought he might like to see some more Porsches😆
Niko Posted 20October, 2019 Report Share Posted 20October, 2019 (edited) A few to kick off with people. I will put a selection up each day, I think I have photos of most who attended although a couple did go home before lunch so I missed them. I have just vetted most of the shots I took and I know it's a poor tradesman blames his tools, but at one stage there after lunch I was shooting with a lens that unfortunately had a drop of rain on it, that I didn't see for some time, leaving a blur on some of the what I considered to be reasonable shots only to have them hit the bin. Otherwise... thanks to the organisers....from a spectator's point of view it seemed to run well, without any mishaps (damage type mishaps) If.... AFTER I HAVE POSTED THEM UP....anyone would like an image of their car sent to them let me know. No charge, all part of the PFA HAPPY FAMILY SERVICE. A few of the faces around the Haunted Hills.... Driveitlikeyoustoleit Posted 20October, 2019 Report Share Posted 20October, 2019 Thank you to Kerry and crew. Disappointed not to have stayed longer...politeness got the best of me after realising my plus one reaaallyy didn’t get the point of spending your Sunday tackling tight corners whilst battling wind and rain 🙈 But great to meet everyone and see all the lovely cars...and delighted not to be the only Cayman owner. hugh, twro and Arne Krix

I forget that friends sometimes underestimate my inner speed demon and toughness...when I say “race track day”, they hear “winery”. To be fair, they’re not always wrong 😄 And echo the big thanks to the organisers. A tough gig in todays weather!! Arne Krix

Kerry Posted 20October, 2019 Author Report Share Posted 20October, 2019 Thanks all for the kind words, very happy to help provide the opportunity for everyone to give their cars a decent squirt! 🙈😎 Special thanks to @hugh and @9fan for their guidance, but a special thanks to @monty188, the bravest driver of the day who stood in the arctic wind and rain all morning like a bloody trooper making sure our excitement wasn't met with an unexpected head-on on the entrance/exit! Cheers boys! 🍻Kez And also thanks to our resident PFA Media operator - Niko! Cheers mate. 9fan, Arne Krix and Niko

Skidmarks Posted 21October, 2019 Report Share Posted 21October, 2019 Great day guys. Sorry I had to bugger off early. Had a booking for lunch in Trentham for my 10 yo’s birthday. The people were great. Friendly, engaged. No wank#rs. I think I was the only lone that left the road. My excuse? Its was wet. And I ran out of talent. Thanks to all who arranged and came. A terrific way to spend Sunday morning. And @wilberforce, sorry I didn’t take you for a ride. I waited a couple of times but you were too intent on doing more runs.
