EastLocal Posted 3September, 2019 Report Share Posted 3September, 2019 Hi all, nice to join the PFA and make my initial post. Just bought my first Porsche - a Cayenne S 2007 (MY08). It is due for a major service (180 000 kms) very shortly. I would like to know if anyone has had experience with independent workshops who can competently service Porsches at a reasonable cost (compared to 'scheduled' service charges by Porsche dealerships). Location of workshops ideally in Sydney's eastern suburbs or 10km from Bondi Junction. Any tips greatly appreciated. thanks !
D2000 Posted 3September, 2019 Report Share Posted 3September, 2019 Apparently there is one in Botany. Maybe someone can chime in. Otherwise there is Cavacos in Glebe and Autohaus in Chatswood. I am in the East but take my car to BWA in Seven Hills. They give you a loaner car.
Tips Posted 3September, 2019 Report Share Posted 3September, 2019 Hi and welcome. Give pcss a call u might be surprised (good or bad) at the dealer service cost on a modern Porsche. They did my Macan and it benefited from the dealer knowing any maintenance recalls or bulletins that require to be done. Not knowing how long since a dealer service was done on your car or it might not be a benefit. They often have a fixed price offer. The other upside is u get free Porsche road side assist if the dealer does the annual service. icu_jimmy
icu_jimmy Posted 3September, 2019 Report Share Posted 3September, 2019 Agree with Tips, or Autohaus in Chatswood will look after it for you, but that’s far from where you are. Just brace yourself if you need brakes - apparently parts are not cheap!
EastLocal Posted 4September, 2019 Author Report Share Posted 4September, 2019 Hi all, thanks for all your tips – will look into them. On Dr Google, I also found a few independents who promote themselves as Euro car specialists (Porsche, Beemers etc specifically mentioned) who use the latest ‘diagnostic equipment’ (whatever that is as I’m no workshop guru). They are conveniently located for me not far from work in the Botany (thanks D2000) – Alexandria – Mascot areas. I also read about “EuroMechanica, Australia’s largest network of independent European specialist workshops” who also apparently deal with servicing Porsches. Anyone had any experience or thoughts about the above? thanks
