Hi PFA people!

Just a quick heads up to see if anyone is interested in a track day at Phillip Island GP circuit on Friday 29/11?

Day is being delivered by Adrenaline, with each participant guaranteed at leas 6 x 15 minute sessions throughout the day.

It's non competitive and drivers are graded into groups based on experience, type of car and ability.

$375 for the day.  Be good to have some other P cars on track.

AlleyCat and I booked in - be great to hear if anyone else can join in the fun!

You can register here: https://www.adrenaline.com.au/phillip-island/performance-driving/drive-day/

Cheers!

Dave

I am pretty interested, just need to clear it with the approval committee.

For those interested, here is a response from Adrenaline to some of my questions;

  • "The operator has responded to me and they said that drivers need to arrive between 7.30-8:00am.  This allows enough time to sign on and take care of administrative tasks before the compulsory safety briefing at 8.20.
  • The operator do not run any passenger sessions.  Spectators are welcome, there is no charge, but just not in the cars.
  • Driver training is not included in the drive day product.  A whole day of driver training is run on the same day but as a different product called advanced driver education program, please see the following link https://www.adrenaline.com.au/phillip-island/performance-driving/driver-education-program/"

The driver training package might be a good option for anyone who hasn't been to PI before, and/or is new to track days. It doesn't sound like there is any driver tuition in the normal Drive Day. The Driver Education Program is $525 (which seems like good value to me)

I've club raced at pi a few times over the years. True world class track in a spectacular location. Even though we could all improve our driving technique, I Know the track reasonably well so would be interested more in pure track day as opposed to the driver training....

Yep same with me - amazing track. The more P cars there the better!

rebooking option for $25

This is a good option, but be sure to read the fine print, in addition to the $25 Booking Insurance; "If you do need to transfer there is an additional $75 excess and your booking is then credited to your Drive Events account for use at anytime in the next 12 months. The total cost of transferring your booking is $100"

That is correct... total cost is $100 if used.  If not it costs $25 for the unused option.  What do they say? Better to have and not need rather than need and not have... personal choice but I buy it 👍

Um, yes :) ... not sure exactly how many. Plans change but should be a few... maybe keep an eye out for the wings! ;)

Just checked with Adrenaline re: garage hire costs and the garages are organised on the day by the staff of the race circuit.

It's $150 for a tandem garage which is steep but might be worth it if a few of us are interested in sharing.

Confirmed starters include:

  • Lazydave
  • Alleycat
  • GT3Loui
  • Vin
