Taffy Posted 13October, 2019 Report Share Posted 13October, 2019 Hey All, I am moving overseas at the start of next year so clearing out the garage and have some 996 parts to go. Summary list 1. Porsche kids car in need of TLC - SOLD 2. 3 spoke indicator/wiper/cruise arm - does not cancel - Free - HOLD 3. 996 Coils - used but good condition x6 4. Sim set up 5. 2 x 24in monitors 6. Logitech Wingman steering wheel 7. Evo mags - HOLD 8. 17" Monitor 9. RHS 996 clam hinge 10. 996 fuel filter - HOLD 11. 996 centre console surrounds - on hold 12. 996 spark plug tubes x 3 13. Tiptroinc filter (no gasket/seal) 14. 1999 996 911 Cab (will put up a full add once i get the roof working) 15. 2015 Lotus 7 replica If you think a price is out of the ball park, let me know what you think is acceptable. 1. $100 Porsche 930 “turbo” kids project car – in need of a resto. From what I can work out these where made by Prestige Mini Motors out of Taiwan in the 80’s. Power originally by a 6V battery with 2 pedals (stop and go but 1 is missing) with horn and lights. There is a decent amount of wiring but I don’t think its complete, that is all pretty easy stuff. It is in serious need of a resto on the body, no more parts then what you see in the photos. I grabbed it off ebay with the intention of cleaning it up for my son, possibly using a 3D printer to make some moulds and just grabbing what fitted to make it run. But now no point as will be ½ way around the world. Some idea what you could do: Reference pictures: http://www.modifiedpowerwheels.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5633 I had the motor and gearbox open, not screwed up back up in this photo. 2. Free – 996/986 3 arm indicator/ wipers / cruise stalk. Note the indicator self-cancelling tabs on the indicator are broken so this is offered as a part for someone to play around with if they want to see if they can fix it. 3. $50 - 996 coils (used) but in good working order. Removed in June 2018 by another forum member and I picked up them up to be spares just in case 4. $450 Sim set up – G25 pedals / shifter / wheel + hyperdrive basic simulator frame + computer (Specs: AMD FX 6300 six core 3.5GHZ, 8GB RAM, Raedon 7900, 64 GB SSD + HDD, Windows 10 home is installed but no CD/key but it updates so seems legit so you could extract the key if you want) + keyboard + mouse + 21in screen + some basic speakers. Bonus is it also includes a 2nd MSI Raedon 7900 graphics card with cross over cable as I intended to run triple monitors and wanted to max out resolution. The reasons it’s not running in the computer is that PSU which came with the box is not big enough to power dual cards so will need to be changed out for something bigger (say a decent 600W unit), if you want to cover the cost of the PSU happy to swap it in for you. I used this to crash a GT3 endlessly on Bathurst in Assetto Corsa… Great fun but I struggled to set a decent time to post in the thread. The idea I had was to actually build a moving sim with truck wiper motors but life got in the way. I still want to build one down the track but no point storing this stuff. 5. $120 dual 24in monitors with stand – Was part of the above sim plan to have triple screens wrapped around. I do have a 3rd 24” older Dell which I have wall mounted in the study which I could add in for another $60. The acer is a K242HL and the BENQ is a G2411HD. The plan was to build a triple stand using screen together piping pieces from Bunnings, plenty of photos of how this is done around. If you want the entire set up make me an offer. 6. $20 Logitech Wingman Formula Force steering wheel for PC – I picked this up a while ago, but didn’t get around to using it much and jumped into using the G25 instead. 2 pedals, flappy paddles and easier to set up vs the G25 for basic use. 7. Free – Evo mag’s and some others. Photos show the editions I have sitting around. 8. Free - 17” Monitor BENQ, had I for a while and going to stick it on a pullout arm in the garage for laptop mirroring while doing car work using the digital manuals. Suits small spaces / etc which you cannot fit the larger screens which are used more these days. 9. $75 RHS Clam hinge, I broke the LHS one on my car ended up getting a pair. This is used but are not that easy to get, I was keeping as a spare just in case. 10. $20 996 fuel filter, never used 11. 996 centre console surrounds / CD storage - $10 12. $30 996 spark plug tubes 996.105.325.52 x3 off I replaced the RHS bank on my car and had ordered 6. Kept them for a just in case when doing spark plugs next time. 13. 996 tiptronic (ZF) transmission filter, but no seal. - $10 The filter only, ie you will need to get the seal separately. I will be listing my 1999 Porsche 996 911 CAB tiptronic in Jade Ocean (blue/green) for sale shortly once get the roof cycling properly. Check out the build thread (Jelly Bean) if you want to see what has been done to this car, it’s a daily driver not a concourse winner and that is good as you won’t be afraid to use it! If you’re interested and want to get in before I list it. I will let it go as one of the cheapest 996 911 I can see around at $35,500. Will come with a Vic RWC, 151,000 kms, engine was a Porsche replacement at 30,000kms so not matching numbers but has the upgrade IMS bearing installed (confirmed during the PPI when I got the car). Why selling? I have taken a job in the UK for a couple of years and intend to try the personal import thing and I also want a 911 to drive in Europe (assuming whatever the company give me will not be exciting) so this one has to go despite plans to keep it (thus it getting a name, build thread and some rather personal upgrades to make it a more enjoyable daily) Looking at that first photo and say I want the 7, I am consider selling it as a running project car (ie no RWC) as I don’t have time to do leg work on what it generally takes to get one of these through. It is what is known as a Locost, aka scratch built car. It’s actually a BMW E36 318IS running gear under that body. Weight is about 700kg, power is 138nhp/180nm so wheel spin all the way through 100 is an issue yes but its soft springs and extra weight to stiffen the chassis means it’s not a track car (needs to be down at around 500-550kgs). Price: $16,000. If you’re serious I can talk you through the car, the ‘ future bucket project list’ which I have for the car, provide the build drawings and a full build diary + engineering certification on the build (its rego’ed to its build date of Dec 2015, passed full ICV regulations and has a VIN on the chassis). It’s running/street drivable and on club rego at the moment, it passed a roady in a similar condition but that is no guarantee as these can confuse people easily, so it’s best to see someone who has seen westfields/PRBs etc in the past or is happy to have you in the workshop as they do the RWC (I hung around and went through the car to show them what was what).
