finnystew Posted 3December, 2019 Report Share Posted 3December, 2019 Hi, I've been chasing down an intermittent shudder/ hesitation for many months now. I've discovered that my DME isn't getting any signal from the TPS. However I've tested resistance at the switch and it is operating fine. Where would the wiring most likely fail? I've tried jiggling the connector while the car runs, but no change. Really hope fixing this will allow me to drive around town in 2nd. The shudder appears with throttle slightly open so cruising is rough. I've also heard of moisture getting into the switch and causing problems. 944s2cab Posted 3December, 2019 Report Share Posted 3December, 2019 have you got a ground supply to pin no.2 of the TPS?, Wiring generally fails with heat/movement so check the wiring by the TPS plug
cyberpunky Posted 4December, 2019 Report Share Posted 4December, 2019 The plug is known as a junior plug/connector I think. I got a new plug from RS components I think and then wires were covered in 500C heat shield tubing, and ran it back to dme. Then terminated it with correct pins. Was a while ago but can be done cheaply and information is out there. Sorry was a while ago
