slowcar Posted 26December, 2019 Report Share Posted 26December, 2019 Hi has anyone done a real comparison using AO 50s (mediums) then tried slicks (soft or mediums) in track sprints?( average 3 timed laps) Early 911 G series. Cheers
spiller Posted 26December, 2019 Report Share Posted 26December, 2019 Hi I don’t have a comparison for a G series but in a 996 GT3 with A050 softs vs a 996 cup car on slicks the time difference is about 3-4 seconds per lap. Generally a slick will be 2-3 seconds per lap quicker at a minimum (depending on the layout).
Skidmarks Posted 26December, 2019 Report Share Posted 26December, 2019 Slicks every time. The trick is to get them to temp which in most cases will be on the 3rd lap (including outlap) so you need to work them properly. As Spiller says, bank on 3-4 seconds a lap at least but its all pretty set up sensitive.

Gus Posted 31December, 2019 Report Share Posted 31December, 2019 Would also be interested in any feed back on this question as I currently run Michelin TB5 15x9 and 15x11 with no comparison . One thing I will comment on is the TB5 work real well in my opinion.
