Dave_S Posted 3March, 2020 Report Share Posted 3March, 2020 I am looking at a car in Melbourne, I want a pre purchase inspection done. I made the mistake of using Porsche service centre in Sydney to do an inspection... Worthless, I made a trip from Brisbane to look at a car anybody would have said "don't bother" but the inspection report said everything was working (even options it didn't have) but didn't say it was about to fall off. There was only ✓ or X, no ability to say it's a bit dodgy. Spoke to Melbourne, they had the same attitude. Rant over, I'm looking for a shop that will give me an analogue report on the car. I want to know if it is a car they would buy and if they would, it is going to need x, y, and z fixed at about $3,500 to get in tip top condition. Any recommendations ? Thanks in advance.... Dave_S Posted 3March, 2020 Author Report Share Posted 3March, 2020 I'm not sure, but anywhere in Melbourne would do, I just want a good Porsche specialist, someone thorough. Their Porsche dealer of choice was the Melbourne yard. So I guess they are centrally located.

There are plenty of specialists around Melb, just thought pending where they are located it may narrow down the options. A dealer wouldn’t be at the top of my list though. Coastr Posted 3March, 2020 Report Share Posted 3March, 2020 You didn’t say which model. Different places have different specialties eg air cooled front engined 996+ water cooled. also with ppis it helps to ask for things you want checked specifically. This is also model specific. Otherwise you can pay for checking for things like do the lights work which you can easy do yourself.

I couldn't find a website for him. Does he have a business name ? I hope they are not the same followers.

Skidmarks Posted 4March, 2020 Report Share Posted 4March, 2020 Garner at Autoart. Takes care of my stuff which ranges from ‘67 to ‘18. Never an issue, sees it all and has the right gear to do the tests. Dave_S
