Fickled Posted 31March, 2020 Report Share Posted 31March, 2020 Hey folks - is there such a place as an independent Porsche specialist in Tasmania? (I'm very much not a fan of Hobart's main dealer...) Cheers, Tony.

Great guy, knows P's very well, does Targa and race prep and builds for both Air cooled and water cooled cars. He does my regular maintenance on the 981, GT3 and 996.2 C2 @ANF and other southerners may be able to comment on on southern options firstone and Fickled 1
ANF Posted 31March, 2020 Report Share Posted 31March, 2020 I do all of my own repairs and maintenance, if I get really stuck I am yet to find someone..... You could try Bocchino Motors (euro specialists/ bodyworks), Nino knows Porsche, but wont be cheap. Fickled

Might be about time to update your photo Ian, the 993 is so yesterday 😊
Fickled Posted 22January, 2021 Author Report Share Posted 22January, 2021 Thanks for the recommendations. (Sorry - haven't been on the forum as much as I would like!😥) But the 996 has just had an "incident". I fear major mechanical work will be needed. Had just noticed a faint new sound from the engine, slowed down to hear properly and it stalled. And now won't turn over. I'm fearing any combination of "the worst". In this context, do we still recommend David? (As opposed to crossing the Straight?) Thanks for any ideas! Cheers, Tony.
drmurugti Posted 22January, 2021 Report Share Posted 22January, 2021 Hi mate are you based in Hobart/ Lton? If in Hobart,I have heard that Autotechnic is very good. Nino is excellent for AC cars and so is Gary at SCC! Gary can do up to 997s. Hope that helps and hope it is something simple. Take care and good luck! Yes, still recommend David, at least talk to him to see what his availability is like. cheers Peter Fickled
Fickled Posted 22January, 2021 Author Report Share Posted 22January, 2021 Thanks Peter - I'll do just that! And yes, a damn shame, as I've been enjoying the car immensely! Cheers, Tony.

drmurugti Posted 23January, 2021 Report Share Posted 23January, 2021 Hey man, worth having a look with local guys if youre based in hobart but i did hear David is the man in Tassie. ( it is a tough one!) Scott uses them at AutoT and swears by them and they have been superbly friendly each time I have been there.
