Porsche mechanic in Tasmania?

Hey folks - is there such a place as an independent Porsche specialist in Tasmania? (I'm very much not a fan of Hobart's main dealer...)

Cheers,

Tony.

Tony, a lot of us up north use David Ringsgwandl (Ringsgwandl Motor Sport) 0438 140 783.  Great guy, knows P's very well, does Targa and race prep and builds for both Air cooled and water cooled cars.  He does my regular maintenance on the 981, GT3 and 996.2 C2

@ANF and other southerners may be able to comment on on southern options

Thanks, I'm going to note David's details as my "emergency mechanic" for my next taste trip 👍

I second TwoHeadsTas' recommendation...David is the best and I'm always impressed with his work, his knowledge and his integrity.

Might be about time to update your photo Ian, the 993 is so yesterday 😊

Thanks for the recommendations. (Sorry - haven't been on the forum as much as I would like!😥)

But the 996 has just had an "incident". I fear major mechanical work will be needed. Had just noticed a faint new sound from the engine, slowed down to hear properly and it stalled. And now won't turn over. I'm fearing any combination of "the worst".

In this context, do we still recommend David? (As opposed to crossing the Straight?)

Thanks for any ideas!

Cheers,

Tony.

Not good news Tony.  Yes, still recommend David, at least talk to him to see what his availability is like.

cheers

Hi mate are you based in Hobart/ Lton? If in Hobart,I have heard that Autotechnic is very good. Nino is excellent for AC cars and so is Gary at SCC! Gary can do up to 997s.
Hope that helps and hope it is something simple.

Take care and good luck!

Thanks mate - appreciate the support! 🙏

Now I'm torn beween confirmed thumbs up for David versus the convenience of Autotechnic down here...

T.
